Salary: $70,000 - 85,000/yearThis position allows for 1-2 days per week remote after on boarding. The Entry-Level Structural Engineer will work under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers to design and analyze concrete structures for various projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in structural engineering and develop expertise in concrete design.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers in designing and analyzing concrete structures, including beams, columns, slabs, foundations, and retaining walls, using engineering software and calculations.
- Learn and apply structural analysis techniques, load calculations, and simulations to ensure the integrity, safety, and durability of concrete structures.
- Contribute to the preparation of engineering drawings, plans, and specifications for construction projects, following design codes, standards, and regulations.
- Collaborate with project teams, architects, and contractors to develop design solutions, review drawings, and resolve technical issues.
- Participate in site visits and inspections to observe construction progress, assess structural conditions, and support field engineering activities.
- Assist in reviewing construction documents, shop drawings, and material submittals related to concrete work, under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Learn and apply project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with clients and stakeholders.
- Stay updated with industry trends, advances in concrete technology, and best practices in structural engineering through continuous learning and professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
- Around 1 year of relevant internship or entry-level experience in structural engineering, with exposure to concrete design and analysis.
- Eager to learn and develop technical skills in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro) and AutoCAD/Revit for drafting and modeling.
- Basic knowledge of concrete design codes and standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE) and an interest in seismic design principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable, with a strong work ethic and a desire to grow professionally in the field of structural engineering.
