This position is a lead project management role that understands the complexity of setting up an integrated service line. This team member acts as the customer's single point of contact and coordinates other supporting project managers as needed. The timing of many projects impacts others, such as linear accelerator replacements and upgrades that can affect the timing and rework of the infrastructure and timelines. They have expertise in managing client expectations, risk, mitigation and communication plans to support project scope and delivery on time and within budget.
Customers will most often consist of multi-site organizations looking to implement highly functioning service lines. Scope includes oversight for capital equipment, enterprise software systems integration, interoperability, consulting, training, and support. They will be accountable for all aspects of a product or service offerings for a client by utilizing project governance structure to include external and internal stakeholders. Provides leadership and oversight for resource teams across Varian business units required for solution execution.

CORE RESONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountable for project management of Varian Executive Partnership projects and/or large complex projects sold with the enterprise project manager services.  Responsible for operations of the project from pre-sales through service and support hand off. Projects are typically 18 months to 2 Years in duration.
  • Project manager lead that works collaboratively with all project management at Varian (Hardware, Software, SaaS and Full scale) to execute project deliverables.
  • Responsible to stand up and maintain project governance structure for all stakeholders internal and external.
  • Manage Relationships with client and partner stakeholders to ensure satisfaction throughout the projects.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to review, analyze, understand, and define the high-level project requirements:  Scope, Schedule, Milestones
  • Responsible to manage the overall timeline for the customer that will include timelines from all project mgmt. teams.
  • Proactively manage and resolve issues to minimize escalations utilizing a project governance structure for change control, risk, and escalation management.

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:

  • 8 or more years’ experience in formal program or project management within the Medical Device/Oncology/Software industry preferred
  • Must have experience in building new programs, processes, and process improvement initiatives
  • Must have a general knowledge of network design, software control systems, and server management. Knowledge of the use and deployment of software in a healthcare environment, especially as applied to cancer care
  • Ability to lead, coach and motivate internal and external project team members
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams of diverse subject- matter- experts
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to create and inform presentations at a project team and an executive level

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Training or Certification in Project Management.
  • Up to 30% travel requirements

The base pay range for this position is

Min $107,600 - Max $193,600

The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
