Enterprise Architect (Hybrid/Remote)

Our Enterprise Architecture team is comprised of Enterprise Architects playing a critical role in providing enterprise-level project solutions and domain strategies. We collaborate with the business and IT subject matter experts across application, data, security, and infrastructure teams turning vision into modern industry standard solutions and roadmaps. Our team thrives in an out-of-the-box thinking to derive the best solutions for our technology to meet our business strategies.
As an Enterprise Architect, you will have the opportunity to provide strategic, modern solutions that evolve the domain digitally by working closely with business teams associated with specific domains. You will be responsible for leveraging IT industry standards and best practices and keeping current with financial services industry trends and emerging technologies. You will also gain understanding and evaluating complex business functions and processes, IT development methodologies, and operational requirements and procedures to support and further our business in its core activities. This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which will include multiple initiatives as assigned by IT leadership.
This role is hybrid (Tue & Wed on-site) for candidates in the Kansas City metropolitan area and open to qualified remote candidates outside of the Kansas City area but only within the US.
How you’ll spend your time:
- Collaborating with business and technical teams to understand and influence business and technical current and future state strategies, and to create solutions that fulfill the business need and corresponding requirements incorporating UMB and industry strategies, patterns, standards and technologies. This also includes reviewing solutions with stakeholders for alignment.
- Leading teams in the strategy and design at the project, domain and enterprise levels.
- Participating in the creation and maintenance of technology roadmaps and domain level portfolio diagrams.
- Documenting patterns for reuse across the enterprise.
- Mentoring IT and Business teams on new technologies and patterns.
- Staying current with modern technology, patterns and trends.
We’re excited to talk with you if:
- You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and at least 7 years of IT experience, OR equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- You have at least 3 years of enterprise or solutions architect experience preferably in a leadership role.
- You have experience with financial systems integration and/or implementation.
- You have proficiency with software development methodologies, software development and QA standards, IT policies, procedures, and technology standards.
- You have knowledge and understanding of industry standards, architecture principles, methods and tools.
Bonus Points If:
- You have a broad knowledge of Banking and Financial Services industry.
- You have the following experience:
- API Integration design and related technologies
- Microservice patterns and design
- Security patterns including Oauth2 security
- Public cloud platforms and associated cloud services
- Event-driven architecture
- DevOps patterns and tooling
- Container management platforms and configuration
- Data modeling
- Network fundamentals
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Cyber / Information Security

Compensation Range:
Minimum: $83,200.00 - Maximum: $214,560.00The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
