The Opportunity

You will take primary responsibility for managing Parliament’s Enterprise Architecture repository (currently OrbusInfinity) working with teams across Parliament to ensure that the data in the repository is up to date and generating outputs to the support the wider work of the Enterprise Architecture team and the Digital Steering Groups. 

  • helping to align initiatives with overarching digital and parliamentary objectives, analysing the organisation’s technology needs, and contributing to the development of standards, reference architectures, and roadmaps in collaboration with the Enterprise Architecture team and subject-matter experts.
  • assisting with the development of solid architectural designs, working with teams to adhere to correct technical governance processes while helping to apply the appropriate organisational standards and methodologies.
  • assisting with identifying and mitigating architecture challenges or risks ensuring successful outcomes that align with parliamentary priorities and meet parliamentary standards.
  • supporting in defining technical procurement requirements that align with strategic goals and parliamentary standards.
  • contributing to the maintenance of technical roadmaps, helping to identify opportunities and challenges, while ensuring compliance with parliamentary guidelines and stringent security protocols.

What You Need

  • experience in a relevant technical role, demonstrating good awareness of a range of architectures, technologies, and programming languages.  
  • experience of collecting data, ensuring data quality and analysing and presenting data and information to a range of stakeholders.
  • awareness of the use of reference architectures and the application of technology policies and/or technical standards, including experience of following clear technical governance processes.
  • experience of building relationships with stakeholders with an ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, whilst upholding the values of equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • experience of solving problems with practical technical solutions, demonstrating an awareness of understanding and following organisational patterns and standards.
  • ability to make evidence-based decisions, taking into account risk and complexity, demonstrating an understanding of the impact of organisational context.
  • the ability to pass security clearance, backed by the right to work in the UK

About The Team

The Enterprise Architecture team is part of the Office of the CTO.  We are responsible for developing Parliament’s technology strategy ensuring that Parliament has the technology it needs to do its work.  We do this through mapping Parliament’s digital landscape, working closely with teams across Parliament to understand how demand for digital will change over time, working with teams in the Digital Service to develop roadmaps and developing Parliament’s reference architecture, standards and design patterns.
