About the Role
The Director of Engineering is influential in making priority trade-off decisions, driving engineering excellence and developing high performing teams.
Responsibilities
- Providing vision and leadership to global sprint teams supporting our Worklife Platform.
- Leading the application development team and develop plans that maximize return on investment for the company.
- Leading teams managing all aspects of application development across multiple functions, business units and business lines.
- Initiating, planning, scheduling, controlling, and bring to closure multiple high priority projects.
- Developing and leading a Agile software development approach that improves velocity, while maintaining a focus on both quality and scalability.
- Fostering a customer service mind-set throughout the application development team, while championing thought leadership and partnership with the business.
- Seeking out, validating, and bringing the technology organization innovative best practices emphasizing application development.
- Ensuring application development initiatives are well managed and delivered to meet expectations on functionality, timeliness, and cost.
- Preparing software development status reports for management, client and other stakeholders.
- Assuring lowest possible cost of ownership of applications through vendor negotiations and benchmarking.
