San Francisco, California, United States - Remote
Our mission at Oura is to empower every person to own their inner potential. Our award-winning products help our global community gain a deeper knowledge of their readiness, activity, and sleep quality by using their Oura Ring and its connected app. We've helped millions of people understand and improve their health by providing daily insights and practical steps to inspire healthy lifestyles.
Empowering the world starts with living our values and empowering our team. As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work â both in and out of the office.
We have offices in San Francisco and San Diego for those who prefer hybrid or office settings. Oura employees in other major cities (like Boston and New York) occasionally gather informally at local co-working locations.
We are looking for an experienced Engineer Manager in the USA to join our growing Womenâs Health team. In this role, you will manage a squad of 6-8 talented mobile app engineers and help the team develop innovations at the intersection of wearable technology and Womenâs Health. You and your team will have a broad impact, not only across key company initiatives but also industrywide, by improving womenâs body literacy and giving womenâs bodies a voice.
What you will do:
- Manage a team of Android and iOS engineers as they design, build, ship, and maintain Oura app features related to womenâs bodies and womenâs health.
- Oversee and manage the development and delivery of highly technical cross-functional projects, while collaborating closely with engineering teams and colleagues in the EU.
- Contribute to the planning and scoping of critical projects and own the execution and delivery of engineering efforts.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in Product, Design, Science, Research, Data Science, Regulatory, Marketing and other teams across our global organization.
- Mentor your reports to help develop their skills and foster professional growth. You will take pride in guiding them through their careers.
- Provide technical leadership to your team; while you may no longer write code, you are still deeply technical and will contribute to, and sometimes lead, technical discussions.
- Evaluate trade-offs and make sound technical decisions that impact entire projects.
- Champion engineering excellence, establish key metrics, and drive continuous operational improvements.
