Who you are:
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager responsible to manage the team’s roadmap, prioritizing initiatives, being accountable for their health and providing a structured path to succeed. As initiative status shifts to at risk, work with stakeholders to identify the levers available, such as making tradeoffs, to bring the project back on track. Capture all inbound requests to the team, prioritizing them appropriately and ensuring trade-off conversations and corresponding outcomes are understood across the stakeholders. Mentor team members, recognizing strengths and weaknesses. Align each member to opportunities to improve and achieve desired growth. Set clear expectations for team members; solicit, synthesize, and deliver feedback via 1:1s and 360 feedback processes. Provide planning and processes that enable team focus, leveraging Agile methodologies to facilitate productivity, collaboration, and project success. Contribute to and lead projects to organize and deliver software releases. Conduct in-depth code review, documentation, and knowledge-sharing presentations to facilitate collaboration with other engineers. Participate in on-call rotation, helping to monitor and maintain system health and responding to system outages. Will manage 4 Software Engineers. May telecommute from any location in the U.S.
Required Skills & Experience:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field and three years of related software development experience.
Must also have demonstrated experience with each of the following:
Writing software and performing code review in Java, Scala, Python, and SQL, and using frameworks including Guice, Akka, and Spring and engineering tools including Git, Grafana, Kibana, OpsGenie, and Snowflake to facilitate this process;
Designing, implementing, and reviewing a high-throughput, low-latency distributed system with a Kafka-based microservice architecture and integrating AWS technologies into these large-scale systems, including DynamoDB, SQS, SNS and RDS MySQL, and Postgres;
Leading product initiatives by working with the product team to define milestones, technical specifications, and delivery timelines using the Agile methodology while ensuring timely and correct delivery of product features by leveraging best industry practices for testing and deployment;
Mentoring, coaching, and onboarding junior engineers to the engineering team, ensuring effective onboarding process for new hires; and
Managing and leading scrum processes in the team such as retro feedback sessions, daily standups, on-call handoffs, sprint planning, sprint updates, and ticket refinement.

Salary: $101,525 to $155,000/year
