As an Engineering Architect focused on Game Server Orchestration at Bungie, you bring valuable experience in game server development to enhance our technical operations.

The Orchestration team is at the heart of Bungie’s Central Technology Online area, focusing on the global implementation of Bungie’s game server scaling solutions. This team plays a crucial role in enabling our games to bring joy and excitement to millions of players worldwide by ensuring seamless online experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build, extend, and maintain Bungie’s global game server solutions, focusing on high-quality, scalable outcomes.
  • Work closely with the team leads to gather technical requirements from across the company, ensuring results align with broader company objectives.
  • Design, develop, and maintain game server and cloud infrastructure solutions, focusing on efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Build and communicate robust mental models for complex technical architecture.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Able to design and implement a Linux-based game server infrastructure, with an emphasis on scalability and stability
  • Able to design and implement microservices infrastructure using Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers of different technical and non-technical backgrounds to build features and achieve goals.
  • Able to independently build and maintain robust, object-oriented code in TypeScript or C#

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Experience with Go, Java, or Rust
  • Familiarity with AWS APIs, services, and permissions management

 

 

Bungie full-time (non-contract) employees in the U.S. also receive:

  • 20 days of accrued time-off in the form of PTO and sabbatical days, depending on the level of the position
  • 10 paid Floating Days annually, prorated in the first year of employment based on start date
  • 10 paid Bungie-observed holidays annually
  • One hour of Paid Sick Time (PST) for every 30 hours worked 

Contract and International FTE employees receive competitive benefits through their relevant contracting agency.
