Job Description Summary

Our team provides advisory services to the developers/utilities/policymakers in the wholesale electric power industry.

We are seeking an Energy Markets Analyst who will specialize in analyzing wholesale power markets, trends, and policies to provide insights and recommendations for our clients. We rely on industry-leading production cost simulation and power flow modeling tools to generate insights and offer strategic support to our clients. We are looking for dynamic individuals willing to learn new modeling tools and derive practical insights to advise our clients. 

Job Description

As an Energy Markets Analyst, you will: 

  • Perform advanced quantitative and economic analysis of energy and environmental markets, using commercial power markets modeling tools. 
  • Collaborate with team to develop and enhance ICF proprietary models and databases. 
  • Evaluate the impact of power market trends and regulations and support the development of client strategies.
  • Be responsible for performing analysis for private and public sector client deliverables. 
  • Support sales and client development efforts with market research, proposal development and thought leadership.
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills.
  • The ability to work with and understand power systems concepts, while also being able to communicate them to non-technical personnel.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Energy/Environment Policy, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Systems Engineering, or related quantitative focused subject 
  • Basic understanding of the energy policy landscape in the U.S. and power systems concepts 
  • Strong analytical skills and data processing capabilities in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Energy/Environment Policy, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Systems Engineering, or related quantitative caucused subject
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the energy policy landscape in the U.S. and power systems concepts.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$57,737.00 - $98,153.00
