The EM&V Energy Analyst will support our demand-side management teams in commercial, industrial, and residential programs in the Mid-Atlantic region. The EM&V Energy Analyst will report to the East Region EM&V Manager and work with a cross-functional team of program implementation, reporting, and IT personnel. The position also supports the analysis of independent, third-party evaluations and is critical in assisting the design, administration, and evaluation of energy efficiency programs. This position will actively participate in measure updates, data calls, and EM&V working groups and coordinate with the utility evaluators as directed.

What you will be doing: 

  • Work with the EM&V Manager in solving quantitative and qualitative problems, including the implementation of energy savings calculations based on Technical Reference Manuals (TRM) or similar regulations/protocols  
  • Review reports and presentations by third-party evaluators 
  • Assisting with maintaining EM&V parameters in a database of energy efficiency measures and related data on programs 
  • Track and support recurring energy measure calculation updates due to newer versions of the TRM or similar regulations/protocols 
  • Contribute to the coordination of responses to data requests from utilities and third-party evaluators; and support internal data requests, identify issues during data calls 
  • Help maintain program databases, incorporating fixes and enhancements and performing periodic reviews for data consistency and accuracy 
  • Support EM&V Manager in the development of EM&V manual, playbooks and best practices 
  • Provide technical guidance to program managers, IT teams, and clients regarding technical requirements pertaining to energy calculations (and energy modeling) 
  • Investigate emerging energy efficient or alternative energy technologies and relevant program delivery strategies if needed  
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for local quarterly travel. Requirements are between 5-10% of the time. (reimbursement for mileage provided)

     
What we need you to have (minimum qualifications): 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in (Engineering, Energy, Environmental Studies or related field preferred) (or applicants can substitute one year of related experience for one year of education) 
  • 1+ years of demonstrated knowledge of lighting, motors, HVAC systems, building automation systems, combined heat and power systems 
  • Experience in MS Office Suite 

 
What we would like you to have:

  • Experience with energy efficiency, energy program design and implementation, or ESCO-preferred  
  • Experienced with using Technical Resource Manuals (TRMs) and supervising the development of tools that utilize deemed savings methodologies preferred 
  • Experience with standard EM&V protocols (IMPVP) and energy savings calculation methodologies such as bin hour calculations, whole building energy modeling, and chiller/boiler plant load modeling preferred 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and exercise independent judgment 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions 
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent written and oral communications 
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency measures and technology preferred 
  • Understanding of programs promoting Demand Side Management, Energy Efficiency, and Demand Response preferred

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$44,680.00 - $75,956.00
