Employee Relations Specialist (Full-time Remote, North Carolina Based)

The Employee Relations Specialist will provide support to the Human Resources department in the area of employee relations. This position will provide direct support to the Employee Relations Manager in all areas of employee relations including coaching and disciplinary actions, grievances, complaints, and performance management.

This is a full-time remote position. The successful candidate must reside in North Carolina and be willing to come onsite for meetings at the Alliance office for meetings as needed.

Ā Responsibilities & Duties

Administer Coaching/Discipline Process

  • Administer the progressive disciplinary process including correspondence, coaching/disciplinary meetings, and reporting requirementsĀ 
  • Ensure timeframes are adhered to for disciplinary actions including pre-disciplinary conference process, written warning issuance and expiration, and probationary extensions

Assist with Employee Relations Administration and Reporting

  • Administer complaint and grievance investigations; including correspondence, gathering information, and ensuring timely investigation and response based on required timeframesĀ 
  • Serve as point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance, support, and resources to managers and employees in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance when necessary
  • Attend unemployment hearings when requested and provide needed information in preparation for the hearingsĀ 
  • Serve as backup for Employee Relations Manager, when neededĀ 

Provide General HR Administration

  • Manage and update HR documents on Alliance intranet and in HR folders
  • Assist in maintaining compliance standards for HR recordkeepingĀ 
  • Assist with HR audits as needed
  • Perform related tasks, as required

Assist with Performance Management Process

  • Assist in managing the performance management process, including assistance with creating resources and providing assistance to supervisors and employees, as requested

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

Required:

Bachelorā€™s degree in business administration, human resources, psychology, or related field and two (2) years of Human Resources experience with a focus on employee relations to include experience with coaching/discipline, performance management, and conflict resolution. Experience working in a HCM system required.Ā 

Preferred:

Experience working in Human Resources for State or Local Government in North Carolina preferred.Ā
