Employee Relations Business Partner

The Employee Relations Business Partner provides guidance and support to our organization and its employees. They have a deep understanding of employment laws and workplace policies and handle a variety of employee relations matters, addressing conflicts, advise on policies, and fostering respectful work environment. 

This role can be Virtual/Remote and located anywhere in the United States. However, candidates local to MSP will be hybrid work arrangement at our Arden Hills, MN corporate office each week.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Conduct Investigations and Ensure Compliance 

  • Investigate employee complaints and conflicts, ensuring resolutions are fair and timely 

  • Lead the interpretation of employee relations policies and procedures, disciplines, and terminations for non-union facilities  

  • Partner with labor relations experts when investigating union organized workforce 

  • Collaborate with Legal on complex cases

Provide Consultation and Guidance  

  • Advise on investigations, performance issues, and ADA reasonable accommodation requests 

  • Make critical assessment and recommendations, while collaborating with the appropriate SME (legal, global security, etc.)  

  • Liaise between employees and managers consulting on performance coaching (performance counseling, structured coaching, performance improvement plans) 

  • Knowledge of workers compensation and ADA accommodations process

Improve Employee Experience: 

  • Serve as a confidential advisor to employees and managers on workplace matters  

  • Facilitate training on investigations, ADA reasonable accommodations, and performance management 

  • Conduct case aftercare with employees to ensure issue resolution has been sustained over time  

 

Required Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field  

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Employee Relations, HR, Legal or related  

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law 

 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated experience as an investigator 

  • Proficient in HRIS systems, preferably Workday, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to handle confidential information and escalate issues when necessary 

  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet commitments. 

  • Adaptable to change and capable of leading in uncertain, fast-paced situations.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.  

  • Excellent evaluation, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to build trust across all levels of the organization. 

  • Ability to convey ideas and recommendations in a clear, compelling, and succinct way in written and verbal communications. 

Approximate Salary Range: $77,000-$115,000
