Stellar Virtual was founded in 2019 with one school in Texas. We serve parents of K-12 students, unhappy with their current school, or needing an at-home/flexible learning environment. Today, Stellar Virtual has grown to six schools across three states: Texas, Arizona, and Indiana. Stellar Virtual is committed to going above and beyond for our virtual families.

Stellar Virtual does not currently provide all employees or contractors with the necessary equipment (i.e., computers, internet service, telephone, home office setup, etc.) required for employment. Depending on your position, you may be assigned a company-issued device to use throughout your tenure of employment.

Position Overview
Stellar Virtual is seeking a dedicated and innovative Elementary Teacher to join our team and provide high-quality virtual instruction to students in grades K-5. This position is ideal for a passionate educator who is excited about engaging students in a remote environment and leveraging technology to deliver an exceptional educational experience. The ideal candidate will be skilled in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment and fostering meaningful connections with young learners across Indiana.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in core subjects for grades K-5 using Stellar Virtual’s online platform.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with special education needs and English language learners.
• Implement the Stellar Virtual curriculum and tailor lessons to meet state standards, focusing on critical thinking and foundational skills development.
• Assess student performance regularly and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
• Use data-driven insights to inform instruction and support student growth.
• Maintain records of student progress and collaborate with support staff to address academic challenges.
• Create a virtual classroom environment conducive to learning, inclusivity, and respect.
• Utilize engaging instructional strategies and digital tools to promote active student participation.
• Foster a sense of community within the virtual classroom through interactive activities and consistent communication.
• Participate in professional development opportunities provided by Stellar Virtual to enhance instructional skills and stay current with online education best practices.
• Proctor state testing exams with students during in-person events, which may require periodic travel within the State of Indiana.
• Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administrators to share strategies, resources, and insights for effective online teaching.
• Actively contribute to school-wide goals and initiatives focused on student achievement and well-being.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes 

• Previous teaching experience in elementary education is preferred; virtual teaching experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with virtual learning tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom, Classlink) and a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage young learners in a virtual environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe online learning environment.

Education & Certification Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field is required.
• A valid Indiana teaching license for grades K-5 is required.
