JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced EHS Specialist to assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining effective Environmental, Health, and Safety programs. This role is integral to fostering a safe and compliant workplace, managing workers’ compensation claims, and ensuring robust training and communication across departments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in program development, Workers' Compensation claim management, and training content creation, along with strong collaboration skills to work with Learning & Development (L&D), Human Resources (HR), Legal, and Operations teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development: Design, implement, and refine EHS programs to promote safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship. Ensure alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
Workers’ Compensation Claims: Manage and investigate workers’ compensation claims, ensuring timely reporting, thorough investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions while liaising with legal counsel and risk management teams as needed.
Facility Inspections: Conduct and review regular facility inspections to identify risks and trends, and ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards. Develop corrective actions and follow up to ensure completion.
Training and Development: Create engaging EHS training materials tailored to specific audiences, ensuring employee awareness of policies, procedures, and best practices. Partner with Learning & Development to deliver effective training programs.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with HR, Legal, Operations, and L&D to address EHS-related matters, communicate program updates, and ensure integration of EHS initiatives across the organization.
Compliance and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, and prepare reports and various federal, state, and local permits to ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 2 years of experience in EHS roles, particularly in program development, workers’ compensation claim management, and training content creation.
In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills, and familiarity with digital safety and environmental management systems.
Ability to build effective relationships across departments and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, project management, and data analysis tools preferred
Certification(s) in EHS-related areas (e.g., ASP, CSP, GSP) preferred.

AnnualBase pay offered may vary depending on actual location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Supplemental pay types may include commissions or bonus incentives, depending on the role.
