Effects Developer (Node-Based Visual Scripting)

We we are looking for:The Effects Developer role combines creative vision with technical expertise. You'll create social media video effects, filters, and interactive experiences using our client's node-based programming system - similar to Unreal Blueprints or Houdini. The ideal candidate understands fundamental programming concepts (loops, conditionals, variables) and can adapt to visual scripting workflows where logic is built through connected nodes rather than traditional code. You will use a proprietary tool that blends drag-and-drop node editing with scripting elements.The ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience and a portfolio demonstrating mastery of node-based systems, clean logic implementation, and creative applications of visual scripting tools. This is a project-based role.Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with creative teams to translate design concepts into functional and visually appealing video filters, games and effects.
• Design, test, and present effects filters based on written or verbal briefs from creative teams, revising based on feedback from editors, motion graphics artists, producers, and/or clients.
• Troubleshoot and/or report bugs to the product development team.
• Stay up-to-date with the internal development of the tool by exploring and testing changes, fixes, and new features.
• Maintain awareness of and experience of major social media platform effects and filters trends and styles. 

 Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of demonstrable experience coding, problem solving, and troubleshooting.
• 2+ years of experience in node-based programming (TouchDesigner, Houdini, Unreal Blueprints, Blender Geometry Nodes, or similar).
• Portfolio demonstrating mastery of node-based systems, clean logic implementation, interactive effects, AR filters, or game-like experiences, and creative applications of visual scripting tools.
• Familiarity with real-time interactive effects and social media platforms.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for learning new technologies

 Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience creating Snapchat Lenses, TikTok Effects, or Instagram AR Filters.
• Background in interactive media, creative technology, or game development.
• Some familiarity with scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, VEX) is a plus but not required.
• Experience with 3D tools like Blender, Maya, or Cinema 4D.
