This role is for a Wind Energy Due Diligence Engineer, including client-facing development and sales requiring deep technical understanding wind energy engineering. As part of the integration with Bureau Veritas, ArcVera is significantly expanding globally, including the Wind Engineering team. The Wind Energy Due Diligence Engineer reports directly to the Global Director of Wind Engineering. One part-time person would immediately report to the Wind Energy Due Diligence Engineer, but additional direct reports may be added as the team expands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing proposals and budgets for Technical Due Diligence using ArcVera’s proposal template tools to meet client scopes and timelines
- Ability to Project Manage a comprehensive Technical Due Diligence effort, coordinating multiple Subject Matter Experts, while conducting portions of the Due Diligence personally.
- Ability to write a Turbine Technical Review covering history and background on the OEM, component construction, failure modes, and mitigation strategies.
- Ability to complete a Site Suitability review referencing the wind conditions, temperature, density, and other factors that could affect the suitability of a wind turbine for application at a site.
- Design review of civil and electrical plans for wind farm construction. This position would perform high-level review and/or administer Subject Matter Experts if parallel calculations are required.
- Review of construction schedule to determine whether schedule targets can be met
- Review of PPA, EPC, O&M, TSA, and other agreements to identify risk and benchmark terms and conditions
- Review financial model to verify that energy production, CAPEX, and OPEX assumptions are reasonable
- Coordination of environmental and permitting Subject Matter Experts
- Ability to analyze operational data, normalize windiness, availability, and curtailment and predict long-term production of a wind farm and document this in a client-facing report.
- Pricing work according to market rates while providing high quality work product
- Business development related to Technical Due Diligence for Wind Energy projects
- Developing strong client relationships through regular communication and prompt, accurate responses
- Suggesting company products/services that maximize client satisfaction
- Participation in industry-wide technical discussions internationally including IEC committees and conference presentations
Requirements:
- Advanced Degree in Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of proven work experience in wind energy due diligence
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Excellent spoken and written English
- High proficiency with Microsoft suite of tools including Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Strong (verbal and written) communication skills with an ability to build relationships
- High degree of professionalism
- Excellent time-management skills with a problem-solving attitude
Key Performance Indicators:
- After ramp up, 65% client billable work hours per week
- Preparing successful proposals for technical services in the amount of $500,000 USD per year
- Delivery of on-time analysis products and reports with minimal/near-zero errors
- Achieve designated monthly and annual productivity targets for client and overhead time
- Demonstrated ability to engage in complex tasks with improving efficiency
- Adherence to stated individual performance goals on annual basis

Salary Range: $102,733.00 - $154,059.00
