Position Summary/Job Duties:

Our dog is very sweet and loves people but is working through some mild separation anxiety. She is sometimes a little stressed when we initially leave, but quickly settles and generally just sleeps the whole time. This would be a great position for someone who is happy to do work/homework, watch tv, or otherwise chill for a few hours while hanging with our dog in our home.

We are seeking someone who is patient, enjoys spending time with dogs, and is comfortable providing a calming presence. The ideal candidate will have experience with dogs, especially those with behavioral challenges like separation anxiety.

Duties include:

  • Keeping our dog company to reduce their anxiety
  • Providing attention, playing, or offering calm activities based on our dog’s needs.
  • Following any specific instructions for maintaining the dog’s routine
  • Letting her out to the backyard for a bathroom break as necessary

Salary/Wage Range:

$20/hr with 2 hours per week of pay guaranteed regardless of whether we end up needing dog sitting that week or not

We are based on the Near West Side a few blocks west of Camp Randall Stadium. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who loves dogs and is looking for occasional evening work. If you’re interested in helping a sweet dog feel more at ease when we’re out, we’d love to hear from you!
