Disaster Management Public Assistance Specialist - Remote

ICF Disaster Management Division seeks a Public Assistance Specialist to join us immediately! This is a 100% Remote in the United States.
The Public Assistance SME will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Public Assistance Division. Assisting with PA Program delivery, project worksheet development and operational details.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the process for assessing and reporting the magnitude of impact after an emergency.
• Resolve program inquiries from program customers and agency management.
• Develop and execute program-specific administrative and operational guidance.
• Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and support to partner agencies.
• Ensure timely administrative and fiscal processes for project worksheets.
• Promote capacity building through local, state, federal, and non-governmental partners.
• Demonstrate subject matter expertise and leadership with program partners and customers.
• Represent the program during public meetings or workshops.
• Coordinate and participate in resolution of project related issues and concerns.
• Optimize procedures and maintain communication and focus.
• Maintain and track each case as required in project report management information system.
• Measure performance with key metrics.
• Keep management team informed on issues, problems & resolutions.
• Superior customer service skill set, ability to listen, facilitate and negotiate problems.

Must Have Qualifications:
• 2 years of FEMA, State or Local Public Assistance or Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) related experience addressing operational issues in disaster recovery operations including issues that have complex programmatic element.
• 5 years professional experience.
Preferred Skills: (may set candidates apart)
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with Federal and State Recovery Programs and Initiatives, Public Assistance and its implementing regulations.
• Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of a wide variety of grants administration issues and problems.
• Experience addressing strategic issues in disaster recovery operations including issues that have complex political and programmatic elements.
