The Director, Supplier Optimization develops strategic initiatives on a regional supplier level to drive incremental revenue opportunities and mitigate potential risks. This role maintains ongoing performance monitoring of strategic initiatives and creates a suite of reporting for active supplier performance management. Additional job duties include communicating changes in the industry, assisting supplier managers on key strategic suppliers, evaluating supplier agreements, and advising management of any industry trends we see developing with suppliers. This position also provides feedback to the supplier managers and/or suppliers on any initiatives they may be considering, including the impact on our customers and any operational impact it may have on BCD.

 

As a Director, Supplier Optimization, you will

 

  • Develop and own strategic initiatives for a North American portfolio of suppliers, in coordination with the global strategy when applicable, to optimize supplier performance, driving incremental revenue and mitigating risks
  • Spearhead the development of regional strategy, influencing team initiatives
  • Improve revenues by supervising key deal performance, assisting with deal negotiations, and providing key strategy and performance analytics & insights
  • Use data and analytics to maximize supplier yields through complex market-level strategies
  • Maintain and improve ongoing performance monitoring of key strategic suppliers to proactively address market changes and identify revenue implications
  • Partner with both Supplier Relations commercial owners and finance, providing forward-looking performance projections to ensure accurate forecasting and proactive contract management
  • Proactively manage contractual targets with travel suppliers, evaluating both yield optimization and risk mitigation based on current and forecasted performance
  • Create new and innovative tools to drive efficiency in established reporting and promote creativity in problem solving new analysis
  • Drive integration of supplier deal structures with unique fare content to ensure revenue optimization
  • Manage internal vs supplier data variances to increase accuracy of projections
  • Develop and maintain projection models

 

About you

 

  • Extensive experience in the travel industry, supplier relations, revenue management, or finance
  • Prior experience in financial or mathematical modeling 
  • Strong understanding of the travel industry, airline supplier relations, airline revenue management, and consulting
  • Thorough knowledge of business travel management, the travel industry, and travel industry technology
  • Effective communication skills (oral, written & presentation) in English
  • Ability to travel domestically & internationally  

At BCD Travel we value you, our culture and success is defined by you. We carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors, including your professional background and experience. The salary range for candidates in applicable jurisdictions in the US for the position of Director, Supplier Optimization is between $92,000 and $121,000. The actual pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience and geographical location.
