Overview
QSC is currently seeking a Director of Strategy & BizOps to drive our company’s strategic growth and lead impactful industry innovation. The Director will focus on three key areas: corporate strategy and strategic initiatives, strategic planning and performance management, and capability building.
- Corporate strategy & strategic initiatives: Developing a long-term vision, growth priorities, and strategic direction, and then leading high-impact, cross-functional strategic initiatives to make the vision a reality.
- Strategic planning & performance: Orchestrating planning to achieve priorities and drive performance and accountability.
- Capability building: Identifying critical capability gaps, designing strategies to build teams/functions to fill the gaps, and then operationalizing them.
This role will involve working closely with executive leaders and our product and go-to-market teams on emerging growth areas like cloud, business transformation, and others. The Director of Strategy & BizOps will be a member of the Strategy & BizOps Team and will report to the Sr. Director, Strategy & BizOps.
Base Pay Range: $181,000 -- $254,000We will be accepting applications until a final candidate is identified. The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. Responsibilities
Corporate Strategy & Strategic Initiatives• Develop Corporate Strategy: Support the creation and execution of the company’s long-term corporate strategy, aligning organizational goals with market opportunities to drive sustainable growth and competitive advantage.• Drive Growth Strategy for Key Business Areas: Develop and implement strategy for major growth areas of the company, identifying opportunities, setting priorities, creating business cases, and guiding cross-functional teams to achieve impactful business outcomes.• Facilitate Strategic Decision Making: Lead market research, competitive analysis, and financial modeling to provide data-driven insights and make recommendations for executive decision-making and prioritization of strategic opportunities.• Lead Strategic Initiatives: Manage end-to-end execution of high-impact strategic projects, including driving project deliverables, timelines, stakeholder alignment, resource allocation, and risks identification and mitigation.
Strategic planning and performance management
• Strategic planning process: support the development, implementation, and execution of QSC and other function/ area’s annual and multi-year strategic plans, ensuring alignment with corporate vision and strategy. • Align cross-functional teams: Collaborate with business units and leadership teams to align strategic initiatives with company goals and ensure cohesive execution.• Performance measurement and reporting: Develop and implement KPIs and performance tracking systems to monitor progress against strategic goals and drive accountability.• Executive reporting: Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to executive leadership, providing strategic insights and data-driven recommendations.
Capability Development• Design and Develop Business Capabilities: Create innovative business capabilities that address operational gaps and support long-term growth, aligning with strategic objectives.• Implement Scalable Frameworks and Processes: Develop and deploy scalable frameworks, tools, and processes to embed new capabilities across the organization and drive operational efficiency.• Operationalize New Capabilities: Lead the seamless integration of newly developed capabilities into existing workflows, ensuring alignment with business goals and sustained impact.• Build Team Capability and Expertise: Mentor and develop junior team members by fostering strategic thinking, analytical skills, and professional growth to strengthen overall team performance.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university or in a business-related field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Business Administration) is required. An MBA is preferred, especially from a top 15 business school.
- Candidates should have 8+ years of total work experience, including at least 2 years in management consulting (preferably with firms like McKinsey, Bain, or BCG), corporate strategy, or business operations. Experience in tech or high-growth companies and prior team leadership are strong advantages.
Knowledge and Skills:• Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving: Proven ability to think critically and strategically, breaking down complex problems and developing innovative solutions.• Financial Modeling and Business Case Development: Expertise in building detailed financial models, performing scenario analysis, and developing data-driven business cases to support strategic decisions.• Market Research and Competitive Analysis: Strong skills in conducting market research, industry analysis, and benchmarking to inform strategy and identify growth opportunities.• Project and Program Management: Demonstrated experience managing large, cross-functional projects with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, allocate resources, and mitigate risks.• Executive Communication and Influence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling presentations (PPT) and influence senior leadership and stakeholders.• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to effectively collaborate across departments, working with diverse teams to drive strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with corporate goals.• Operational Excellence: Strong understanding of operational processes with the ability to design and implement scalable frameworks, tools, and business capabilities.• Analytical and Data-Driven Decision-Making: Analytical skills with experience leveraging data in excel and other platforms to drive insights and inform high-impact decisions. • Change Management: Knowledge of change management principles with experience leading organizational change initiatives to embed new capabilities and drive adoption.• Industry Knowledge: Understanding of IT industry trends, go-to-market strategies, and product development processes is a plus.
