Position Summary

The Director – Revenue Regulations serves as the enterprise revenue cycle expert on matters related to internal policies, company guidelines, Federal/State regulations, government and commercial audits, and compliant business development. The Director is accountable for communication with leadership across revenue cycle and operations, and with external insurance companies and government agencies. Primary responsibilities are to assure effective and compliant revenue cycle performance while providing strong advocacy in protecting MultiCare’s revenue.

Requirements

•    Ensures revenue cycle compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
o    Directs the process for monitoring new or revised regulations that impact revenue cycle
o    Partners with revenue cycle stakeholders to develop policy, procedure and operational implementation plans 
o    Facilitates communication of MultiCare’s policies and procedures with facility departments, physician office managers and the business office
o    Collaborates with relevant stakeholders to ensure appropriate implementation and compliance
•    Coordinates escalated reviews with the Compliance Department and Legal Services 
•    Assists with detection of compliance deficiencies, provides corrective guidance, and implements risk mitigation strategies
•    Serves as the primary resource and support for revenue cycle compliance matters/investigations
•    Supports acquisitions and new lines of business, ensuring appropriate Epic architecture for compliant claims generation
•    Responsible for managing government and commercial audit functions, including payer escalation legal work as needed
•    Manages approximately ten staff, providing direction and guidance and administering management functions within the provisions of MultiCare policies and standards and federal, state and local regulations. 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field required 
•    JD and active Washington State Bar Association membership required
•    Eight (8) years Revenue Cycle or Legal experience 
•    Five (5) years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity  
•    Healthcare Experience preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $139,630.00 - $200,949.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
