General Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Director to lead the Business Intelligence function within our Global Medical Affairs Program Management Office (GMA PMO). This individual will play a key role in defining, measuring, and communicating the value of Medical Affairs throughout the organization.

The Director will work closely with global and regional Medical Affairs teams, cross-functional partners, and technology experts to create and implement success metrics that demonstrate the impact of Medical Affairs. They will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining key dashboards and portals across GMA, ensuring that these tools are aligned with the organization’s vision, mission, and strategy. In addition, the Director will focus on process harmonization, change management, and the use of performance-driven metrics to measure and sustain organizational value.

In this role, the Director will ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget, while maintaining clear and effective communication across internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and effective change agent, capable of partnering with leadership to develop strategy while also executing operational tactics. They should be a skilled problem solver, able to prioritize effectively, and maintain focus on the overall organizational goals. Strong communication skills, along with the ability to synthesize and organize complex information, are essential. A high level of initiative and resourcefulness in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment is also key.

This position reports to the Executive Director, GMA PMO.

Essential Functions of the job: Develop Success Metrics:

• Lead the design and implementation of value-driven success metrics for Global Medical Affairs (GMA), including harmonizing field metrics across the organization.

• Collaborate with global and regional teams to develop and manage key metrics and dashboards, ensuring alignment across the organization.

Technology & Capabilities:

• Support Medical Affairs-wide technology assessments and drive projects to augment our technical and analytical capabilities.

• Manage technology and capability projects to support real-time data collection and reporting.

• Partner with Commercial Operations, Business Analytics (COBA), and Global Technology Services (GTS) to leverage existing tools and platforms.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work with internal stakeholders to harmonize metric collection, data synchronization, and reporting processes.

• Align with cross-functional teams to optimize resource use and drive best practices.

Field Metrics:

• Drive synchronized reporting of field team metrics to ensure measurable outcomes and accurate communication of value delivered by Medical Affairs to external stakeholders.

Insights & Communication:

• Map the overall the process of gathering, analyzing, and communicating insights from Medical Affairs activities and work with key team members to apply consistency to regional processes.

• Ensure consistent internal communication on the value and impact of Medical Affairs, maintaining a clear narrative based on metrics and insights.

Program Management:

• Identify critical milestones, risks, and resource needs, collaborating with teams to resolve issues and meet timelines.

• Manage project meetings, documentation, timelines and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.

• Drive use of project management tools and best practices across GMA, ensuring consistent communication and issue resolution.

• Lead change management efforts, training teams on new tools and processes.

• Conduct risk assessments, track project timelines, and communicate progress and risks proactively and transparently.

• Effectively and quickly establishes rapport with all key internal/external partners and stakeholders and influences without authority.

• Optimizes communication within and between teams, in and outside of meetings, and at varying organizational levels.

• Develops and optimizes processes by driving continuous improvements within the PMO, driving best practices across GMA.

Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to corporate policies and healthcare regulations.

Mentorship:

• Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring new program managers.

Supervisory Responsibilities: • N/A

Computer Skills:

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word, Teams) as well as Smartsheet is required. Proficiency (or ability to become quickly proficient) in business intelligence/analytical tools such as PowerBI is required.

Other Qualifications:

• Industry experience – A strong understanding of the biotech/pharmaceutical industry and previous drug development experience is required. Drug development experience within Medical Affairs is required.

• Strategic Thinking – possesses the ability to both see the big picture and drill down on details; think strategically (long-term and system-wide) and execute tactical plans.

• Tools and Technology - Adept at learning new technologies and platforms including CRMs and business intelligence tool.

• Problem Solving – A proactive and effective problem solver who works well with others; proven ability to manage complex and challenging situations to drive to clarity.

• Project Management – highly proficient at both building and maintaining Gantt charts, tracking systems, spreadsheets and tools that support a systematic and scalable approach to managing projects.

• Initiative and Resourcefulness – works independently, anticipates the needs of Global Medical Directors to help mitigate problems ahead of time, and solves problems without needing guidance/direction.

• Communication - excellent writing and oral communication skills; ability to present key information objectively and in an organized fashion.

• Team Player – has a team-oriented approach.

• Excellence in Execution – ability to execute accurately and with a sense of urgency; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Meeting Management – excellent meeting planning and facilitation skills.

• Business Sense - has a strong business sense and can decipher priorities and make sound judgment calls when needed.

• Project Management certification is a plus.

Education Required:

10+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech or life sciences industry with a Bachelor’s degree, or 7+ years of experience with a Master’s degree. 6+ years of experience working in a project or program management role. Bachelor’s degree is required, advanced degrees (Master’s Degree, PhD, PharmD) are a plus.

Travel: Work-related travel will be less than 5%. Over-time and weekend travel may be required on occasion.

Salary Range: $168,800.00 - $228,800.00 annually

Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Packages may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor. The recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for a preferred location during the hiring process.  Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
