The Director of Professional Services manages a Professional Services Organization and owns revenue and P&L responsibility for this rapidly growing business.

Essential Functions

  • The Director Professional Services will be responsible for client engagement management, thought leadership and team-building.
  • The Director of PS will develop and execute clinical business initiatives that will enable clients to maximize their investment in Altera’s products. The position will drive revenue growth through services that drive change and affect client outcomes.
  •  S/he will develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients at the C suite level and will develop an in-depth understanding of the client business needs to position Altera as a key decision-making partner.
  •  S/he will develop and offer services that reflect an understanding of a client’s unique business needs and offer solutions that are measurable. Engagements will address a wide range of strategy sessions, strategic planning and facilitation of strategic decision making with clients.
  • The Director of PS will provide thought leadership to deepen and expand the company product offerings and client solutions. S/he will direct and manage the overall and day to day business execution of client projects to ensure quality work products, solutions and deliverables.
  • The Director of PS will work closely with members of senior management to support strategic and tactical plans to meet revenue goals. The Director of PS will effectively build and manage a team of consultants who are experts in their fields. S/he will establish goals objectives, measurable goals and performance standards to ensure effective client outcomes. S/he will champion the development of best practices and programs encouraging the best of the best mindset.
  • The Director of PS will be considered successful at the end of the first year if:
    • Revenue goals are achieved
    • Headcount targets are achieved

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred 
  • 15+ years relevant work experience, preferred 
  • Proven track record of attracting the best available talent and building a profitable healthcare consulting business while juggling client demands 
  • P & L experience 
  • 10+ years relevant leadership experience including responsibility for a sub-function within a business unit, preferred 
  • Up to 30% travel may be required

  • Strong market knowledge and ability to lead operational strategy development
  • Understands consulting as a business: demonstrated success in the ability to translate customer requirements into business solutions and successfully position with customers
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people, organize, develop and motivate a team;
  • Demonstrated facilitation, collaboration and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to develop C level relationships that lead to trusted advisor status.

Salary Range$130,000—$155,000 USD
