What you will be doing

Under general direction of the Senior Director, Diversion Control and Federal Investigations, and working closely with the Director of the Diversion Control, responsible for supporting all pharmacy inspections, pharmacy data analysis, and liaison with state and federal pharmacy regulatory authorities on matters related to Cencora's Diversion Control Program (DCP). Also, under the general direction of the Senior Director of Corporate Security and Regulatory Affairs (Specialty), responsible for assisting in compliance and regulatory matters of Cencora's internal pharmacy and reimbursement operations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Reviews data and performs analysis on pharmacy purchasing patterns of controlled substances to include: quantity, product mix, class of trade, and clinical appropriateness.
2. Coordinates and may participate in on-site pharmacy visits by both external and internal resources and makes any recommendations for corrective actions based on observations, interviews and data analysis.
3. Assists Director, Diversion Control, in developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and forms necessary for the operation of the DCP and Order Monitoring Program (OMP).
4. Provides guidance to Diversion Control team members with Pharmacy related investigations as a subject matter expert.
5. Serves as liaison with Distribution Centers and provides guidance regarding pharmacy regulatory compliance issues.
6. Assists in liaison with state and federal pharmacy regulatory and law enforcement authorities in matters related to the DCP and OMP.
7. Assists in Corporate Security and Regulatory Affairs (CSRA) training program development and training presentations related to DCP, OMP and general pharmacy operations.
8. Provides guidance to members of the Diversion Control team in evaluating consumption reviews and reconciling statements made by pharmacy customers related to their needs for increases levels of certain controlled substances.
9. Review and assess new product information and insure that the product is assigned to the appropriate drug family for purposes of the OMP; and assists the Director of Diversion Control with other OMP management and maintenance requirements.
10. Supports Cencora companies with various accreditation process preparations.
11. Assists with evaluation and provides direction to quality assurance (QA) programs of Cencora companies.
12. Assist with HIPAA Privacy Program activities, inspections, and processes as needed.
13. Assist with the implementation, maintenance and evaluation of controlled substance policies and procedures for Cencora owned/operated pharmacy operations.
14. Willingness to travel up to 35% of the time.
15. Performs related duties as assigned.

What your background should look like 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires broad training in related field through completion of a five year Bachelor's Degree program and be a registered Pharmacist; normally requires ten (10) years related and progressively responsible experience; and previous work experience in pharmacy operations, reimbursement and dispensing of prescriptions.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Demonstrated extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations
2. Knowledge of Cencora policies and procedures
3. Proficient interview and interrogation skills
4. Ability to work alone as well as with others
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
6. Ability to collaborate with others
7. Ability to evaluate facts, determine alternative solutions to problems, evaluate courses of action, and make sound management decisions
8. Strong interpersonal skills; self-starter

$118,000 - 181,720

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
