About the Job
As the Director of People Operations at Life360, you will lead the HR Operations team while working closely with cross-functional teams to design, refine, and enhance People Team processes and programs. Your goal will be to create an efficient and meaningful employee experience, ensuring HR systems, processes, and resources align with the company’s strategic objectives and growth. This role requires extensive knowledge of HR best practices, operational excellence, and a collaborative approach to improving efficiency and meeting the business’s evolving needs. You will report to the Chief People Officer and manage a team of four.
The US-based salary range for this position is $158,000 to $233,000 annually. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary- therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.
What You’ll Do
Project and Program Management:
- Develop and execute HR operational strategies to streamline and improve processes throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Lead the design, implementation, and documentation of HR initiatives and projects, ensuring they align with organizational goals and promote operational efficiency.
- Oversee HR projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and with active stakeholder involvement.
- Develop detailed project plans, document procedures, allocate resources, manage budgets, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Identify and implement scalable, cost-effective solutions to boost the efficiency of the People Team, focusing on building infrastructure, increasing automation, and responsibly leveraging AI to streamline operations.
- Manage HR audits and compliance processes, ensuring adherence to SOX, local labor laws, and internal policies, while maintaining a strong control environment and promoting continuous process improvement.
- Improve People Team service delivery by refining processes for quick, accurate, and compassionate responses to employee inquiries through the ticketing system. Use metrics and feedback to drive ongoing improvements in service effectiveness.
Global Workforce Planning & HR Operations:
- Oversee all global HR operations, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations in various regions and countries.
- Optimize HR technologies, tools, and systems to streamline operations and enhance overall efficiency in people-related processes.
- In partnership with the Talent team, manage the Contractor Program including but not limited to: vendor agreements, contractor tracking, onboarding and offboarding.
HR Program Alignment:
- Collaborate with cross-functional HR teams, including Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Compensation, and Learning & Development (L&D), to ensure HR programs are aligned with business needs.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of HR programs that support organizational goals and boost employee engagement.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for candidates with a diverse background that will compliment the skills and backgrounds of the current team. - 10+ years of experience in People Operations/HR Operations, with deep expertise in HRIS (especially Workday) and a proven track record of scaling and optimizing global HR processes and programs
- A strong understanding of HR policies, processes, and local legal requirements to ensure compliance and operational excellence
- A passion for workflows, efficiency, and consistency, paired with a meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- The ability to align company needs with HR best practices, while crafting frameworks that are tailored to the company’s unique culture and growth trajectory
- Discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive information and making decisions that affect both individuals and the organization
- An understanding of both building from the ground up and strategically scaling operations as the company grows
- A proactive problem-solving mindset, anticipating challenges and addressing potential risks before they escalate
- A data-driven approach to decision-making, using both employee feedback and metrics to inform People initiatives and measure their impact
- Proven experience in building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization to drive alignment and results
