Director, Offsite Solutions

Wage: Starting at CAD $195,000

Location(s) of work: 350-1200 59 Ave SE, Calgary, Alberta T2H 2M4 Canada. May be required to travel to worksite locations across Alberta.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the strategic vision for the Modular Solutions division, aligning with Bird’s overall business objectives.
  • Identify and pursue market opportunities to expand the offsite solutions portfolio, including new technologies, partnerships, and client sectors.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and the competitive landscape to maintain a leading edge in modular construction.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of modular construction projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (design, engineering, procurement, and project management) to optimize workflows and enhance project efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain processes to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Drive accountability and performance through clear goal-setting and regular evaluations.
  • Cultivate relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Act as a key point of contact for major modular projects, providing strategic guidance and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Represent Bird Construction at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance brand visibility and thought leadership.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of senior managerial expertise as well as proven experience in multimillion (over $100 Million), large and complex construction projects in urbanized environments.
  • 5+ years of experience in modular/offsite construction or a closely related field.
  • Ability to develop corporate strategies and long-term plans.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects, including design-build and modular delivery.
  • Strong business acumen and financial management skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Required Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field is an asset.
