Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

Fostering a National Intercampus Student Community

● Develop and support national student groups that align with shared student interests and experiences.

● Ensure student groups have the resources and mentorship necessary to thrive and sustain their presence over time, creating continuity for new and continuing students.

● Facilitate collaboration among and between student groups across campuses to create a more unified student culture and shared learning experiences.

Fostering Intergroup Connections & Dialogue

● Lead efforts to build bridges between students from different backgrounds, helping them develop the skills to engage across differences.

● Create programs that balance opportunities for students to connect with peers who share their identities and interests, while also cultivating relationships with those from different perspectives.

Student Culture Management & Development Initiatives

● Establish trust-based relationships with individual students and communities to better understand their needs and aspirations.

● Partner with the university administrators and student organizations to co-develop initiatives that enhance the student experience and deepen their connection to the institution.

● Serve as a strategic liaison between students and institutional leadership, ensuring student voices help shape the broader campus culture.

Basic Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., student affairs, education, organizational leadership, or related disciplines).

● At least five years of experience in student engagement, leadership development, and/or campus programming.

● Proven ability to develop and implement student-centered initiatives that enhance culture and belonging.

● Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills with students and institutional partners.

● Experience designing programs that foster intergroup connections and dialogue.

Preferred Qualifications

● Advanced formal education or training in relevant in student affairs, education, leadership, or a related field.

● Certification in (critically conscious, multipartial) mediation or facilitation

● Experience working in multi-campus or national student engagement roles.

● Familiarity with best practices for student leadership development, cultural fluency, and community-building.

● Experience in strategic planning and program assessment within a student affairs context.

Compensation & Benefits

This opportunity is budgeted at $$85,000 to $125,000, DOE base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
