Director of Risk & Compliance - Mortgages (12 Month FTC)

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to cover the maternity leave of our current Director of Compliance for a 12-month fixed term contract. This role is crucial for maintaining our high standards in risk management and compliance, and will include taking on SMF16 & SMF17 responsibilities.

About the Role: In this position, you will be responsible for continuing the exceptional work of our current Director of Risk & Compliance. You will need to work in an iterative, pragmatic manner while keeping our risk appetite in check. As we grow and innovate, you’ll help build on our reputation and deliver excellent customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• SMF16 & SMF17 Responsibilities: Take on Senior Management Functions 16 & 17, ensuring effective oversight of risk and compliance within the organisation.
• Risk & Compliance Leadership: Act as the go-to person for all things related to risk and compliance at Mojo, managing a team of compliance experts, QA specialists, and trainers.
• Policy and Framework Management: Own, implement, and adhere to policies, frameworks, and training programs to support the business and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Regulatory Guidance: Provide expert regulatory advice, ensuring the application of FCA rules, ICO DPA/GDPR regulations, and compliance with advice standards.
• Risk Management: Oversee the Risk Management Framework policy, identifying and mitigating risks while prioritising good customer outcomes.
• Governance and Reporting: Manage governance over regulatory reports and financial promotions, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with business units on strategic changes, product design, campaigns, and partnerships to ensure risk and compliance are key focuses.
• Training and Development: Train and coach colleagues on compliance-related topics, fostering a culture of compliance and risk awareness within the organisation.
• Conflict and Due Diligence Management: Manage conflicts of interest and conduct due diligence on third-party partners to protect against financial crime.
