About the Role

We’re looking for a tech-savvy Director of Product to join Thoropass as we look to expand our Product team and create a best-in-class tool for security compliance management.

At its core, this job is managing a segment of our product verticals. You will help drive that verticals strategy and ensure product execution that moves business goals. This includes strategic level insight that can be backed by data, and debated at all levels. Most importantly you will be responsible for coaching and leveling up senior & mid level Product Managers who are passionate and talented. Micro managers need not apply. Finally you will be required to collaborate heavily with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring they are excited for our products and the story they tell.

 Required

  • Strong management skills, particularly of Product Managers in a startup environment.
  • Experience working with passionate C-Suite executives.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to think and lead complex projects simultaneously
  • Experience in complete software development lifecycle duties, including requirements gathering, design, estimation, prototyping, implementation, and quality assurance
  • Experience with Agile development and methodologies
  • Have shipped digital products before
  • Experience with project management tools such as JIRA and ProductBoard
  • Expertise with Heap, Segment, or similar Product Analytics tools
  • Software engineering background or experience working closely with software engineering teamsCollaborative to a fault, with a team-first attitude.
  • Passion for technology and building a best-in-class digital experience
  • Firm grasp of technology architecture and the ability to understand complex product functionality, design, and technical issues in order to estimate feature development efforts and drive the right priorities, trade-offs, and resolutions
  • Ability to empathize with the customer and prioritize high-impact features on their behalf
  • Organized, self-directed, efficient, and able to manage multiple and complex projects in a timely manner
  • Effective communicator, presenter, and negotiator
  • Experience working and collaborating with diverse teams in a dynamic, rapid-growth environment

  • Experience in compliance, information security, privacy, or other technical industries

Essential day-to-day activities include:

  • Applying strategic thinking based on information obtained through understanding both quantitative & qualitative analysis of the domain, the product, and our clients.
  • Driving execution of teams by removing road blocks.
  • Acting as a bridge between different Labs teams to smooth dependencies, and align strategy.
  • Mentoring all Product Managers, and being a teacher/example of what high quality PM looks like.
  • Helping to develop quarterly product roadmap with buy-in from cross-functional teams to unite behind and deliver shared goals.
  • Developing strong relationships across departments to help see the larger picture and ensure Product is doing it’s best.
  • Creating and launching market-leading product offerings in partnership with sales, marketing, engineering, and customer experience.
  • Analyzing and dispersing relevant product analytics/insights using product metrics.

What we are looking for:
We seek a Director of Product to envision how companies manage their security compliance in "one-click.” You will join an established Product team and be expected to make an immediate impact. We are looking for a cognitively curious, self-starter with a strong bias towards action who is interested in working in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment. If you are passionate about building intuitive solutions to complex problems that drive direct value to users, we would love to talk with you.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience, minimum in product management and 3+ years of management experience. 

Compensation 

  • The compensation range for this role is $175,000 - $230,000 and will be based on experience and skill set
