The team working on the Payment Processing product line is the cornerstone of NMI, enabling businesses to securely accept in-person and online payments while ensuring a consistent customer experience across all methods of acceptance. This team maintains a scalable, reliable, accurate and compliant transaction gateway that processes more than $200billion in payments through the platform each year across 150+ processors, 3k partners and 300k merchants around the world.  

Our global team of payment industry leaders build solutions that allow merchants to take any payment in any location; from retail point of sale terminals, eCommerce web sites, in-App, pay by card or bank, digital wallets and even automated toll and unattended environments. Our team is tasked by our clients and partners to remain ahead of the curve on the future of payments so that their merchants can deliver the easiest possible consumer experience.

As the Director of Product Management, Payment Processing you will lead the product team responsible for world class products and experiences that help our partners process more payment volume for their merchants. This Director position, along with your 3 product manager direct reports, own the roadmap for ~60 total members in the US and UK across product and engineering working to deliver an incredible payment processing experience for our global ISO and ISV customers. 

In this role, you will:  

  • Drive the processing team towards clear and measurable outcomes 
  • Lead strategy definition and prioritization for payment acceptance, and oversee annual and quarterly planning to ensure your strategy has stakeholder consensus and is iteratively delivered 
  • Deeply understand the needs of our global customers, their merchants and end-users, internal teams, competitors and the market
  • Provide cross functional teams context, empathy and rationale behind customer needs. From “customer wants a feature” to “they want to solve a problem that helps with …”
  • Build a customer feedback loop (qualitative, quantitative, experiments, A/B testing, partner advisory board, etc) 
  • Establish and inspect quarterly OKR’s for your team to measure efficacy of growth initiatives 
  • Attract, build, manage and develop a talented, diverse and inclusive team of product managers
  • Speak at conferences, company firesides, sales and customer workshops to promote products
  • Manage vendors within your product line from contract negotiation and renewals, through delivery, escalation and relationship management. These partners include card schemes, processors, device manufacturers, and distributors
