As the Director, Operations for World Kinect, you will manage and direct the staff of all operational activities including transportation, warehousing, maintenance, and safety in an assigned region. The role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of direct reports and for carrying out these responsibilities within the organizations policies and procedures. Must provide vision, leadership and a positive role model to the Operation Managers their reports and below. This role must have the capability to expand into different areas, geographic regions and have the knowledge and experience to do so quickly.

Location: California - Remote

Salary: $130,000 to $150,000 DOE

Annual Bonus: 25%

Transportation Management and/or Fuel Distribution Management experience is essential for this role.

This role will manage 5 Direct Reports and 200 Indirect Reports (Drivers)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of operations in their region.
  • Provide team leadership and management, direction and vision at all levels to assure alignment, inspiration, and fellowship translating into operation efficiency and profitability.
  • Collaborate with other departments so the organization operates more efficiently and effectively as a whole. 
  • Optimize the distribution footprint to serve customer needs in the most economical way possible, in collaboration with supply and sales.
  • Gather and analyse relevant data to develop business cases for operational strategic initiatives.
  • Manage constructive industrial relations in conjunction with relevant stakeholders for both non-union and union workforce.
  • Manage operations effectively using defined metrics.
  • Responsible for HSSE within region.
  • Participate annually on capital expense budget and Plan building.
  • Review and analyse P&L monthly, comparing performance to target budget. Sharing improvement actions with direct reports to push for improvement and cost controls.
  • Ability to take ownership and be accountable for issue resolution and general customer satisfaction.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly supervises the Operation Managers and Sr Operation Managers that administer all operational management.

Geographic Scope & Travel Requirements

  • The scope of these responsibilities extends within one’s geographic territory in alignment with the entire North American Land segment. 
  • Frequent travel is required.

Key Performance Measures

  • Safety KPI including but not limited to accidents, spills, quality, injuries.
  • Performance metrics including but not limited to fleet utilization, cost per gallon, on time delivery.
  • Financial P&L performance controlling operation costs, compensation, over time.

Education Required

College Degree (BS, BA, etc.) is preferred

Work Experience Required

  • 10 – 15 years’ operations experience is required.
  • Fuel Distribution/Management exprience is preferred.
  • Experience in managing multiple sites.
  • Transportation Management experience is required.
