Job Description
eduCLIMBER is an interactive system that integrates all whole child data into a single platform with built-in tools for intervention tracking, collaboration, effectiveness reporting, early warning, driving system-level improvement, and more.Â
As an engineer on the eduCLIMBER team, youâll work on a rapidly growing product that impacts over 3 million students in the US. Our team is highly collaborative and are continuously working to ensure eduCLIMBER is reliable, scalable and robust. Our stack includes PHP, Python, MySQL, AWS and Linux.Â
As a Director of Engineering, you will:Â
- Lead a team of engineers who will report to you directlyÂ
- Work in close collaboration with Product Owners and other key stakeholders to expand and enhance eduCLIMBERÂ
- Drive key architecture initiatives to allow eduCLIMBER to efficiently scale as our feature-set and customer-base growsÂ
- Collaborate with our Data Engineering team to help design and implement new services and pipelines that support key integrations with a wide variety of other systemsÂ
- Get hands on contributing to the codebase or other implementation tasksÂ
- Lead and mentor other engineers to promote growth across the teamÂ
- Participate in an on-call rotation to assist with operational support for our US customersÂ
Qualifications
For this role as a Director of Engineering, you must have:Â
- Experience managing teams of engineersÂ
- 8+ years of experience developing APIsÂ
- 4+ years of experience developing, deploying and hosting applications on AWSÂ
- 4+ years of experience developing against MySQL or equivalent RDBMSÂ
- 2+ years of experience with Linux and DockerÂ
- Strong knowledge of various automated testing frameworksÂ
- Strong technical documentation and diagramming skillsÂ
- Strong CS fundamentals, solid knowledge of OOP/OODÂ
