About Rad AI

At Rad AI, we’re on a mission to transform healthcare with artificial intelligence. Founded by a radiologist, our AI-driven solutions are revolutionizing radiology—saving time, reducing burnout, and improving patient care. With one of the largest proprietary radiology report datasets in the world, our AI has helped uncover hundreds of new cancer diagnoses and reduced error rates in tens of millions of radiology reports by nearly 50%.

Rad AI has secured over $140M in funding, including a recently oversubscribed $60M Series C round led by Transformation Capital, bringing our valuation to $525M. Our investors include Khosla Ventures, World Innovation Lab, Gradient Ventures, Cone Health Ventures, and others—all backing our mission to empower physicians with cutting-edge AI.

Our latest advancements in generative AI are used by thousands of radiologists daily, supporting more than one-third of radiology groups and healthcare systems and nearly 50% of all medical imaging in the U.S. at partners including Cone Health, Jefferson Einstein Health, Geisinger, Guthrie Healthcare System, and Henry Ford Health.

Recognized as one of the most promising healthcare AI companies by CB Insights and AuntMinnie, and ranked by Deloitte as the 19th fastest-growing company in North America, we are building AI-powered solutions that make a real impact.

If you’re ready to shape the future of healthcare, we’d love to have you on our team!

About the Role

As the Director of Emerging Products, you will lead the incubation of new projects and product lines at Rad AI. This role blends engineering, product management, and venture-style incubation to explore, validate, and execute on disruptive new ideas while ensuring our core teams remain focused on the primary product portfolio.

This role can be located in San Francisco or Seattle (In-office, 4 days per week) and will report directly to our Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

This is a foundational leadership position, where you will:

  • Build a high-performance team from scratch and scale it over time.

  • Establish the incubation function, including how projects are initiated, evaluated, and transitioned.

  • Define and execute De-risked Minimum Viable Products (DMVPs) to validate technical and market feasibility.

  • Own the process for transitioning validated projects to core engineering, go-to-market teams, or spinning them out as standalone efforts.

  • Drive a culture of innovation and responsible risk-taking within the company.

  • Set up a new in-office location for Rad AI in either San Francisco or Seattle, acting as a hub for emerging product development.

Your Responsibilities

Product & Technology Incubation

  • Identify, evaluate, and incubate new product ideas that align with Rad AI’s long-term strategy.

  • Design and execute fast, cost-effective experiments to assess product viability.

  • Lead DMVP development, balancing engineering rigor with rapid iteration.

Team & Organizational Leadership

  • Recruit, hire, and mentor a cross-functional team (engineering, product, and design).

  • Establish the evaluation criteria for new projects (technical feasibility, market fit, and strategic alignment).

  • Develop a structured process for project initiation, approval, and transition to core teams.

Strategic & Cultural Impact

  • Champion a culture of innovation, autonomy, and calculated risk-taking within Rad AI.

  • Maintain a strong partnership with core engineering and product teams to ensure new projects complement rather than distract from core execution.

  • Serve as a key voice in Rad AI’s technical and product strategy, advising the CTO and executive leadership on long-term opportunities.

Location & Office Leadership

  • Establish a new Rad AI office in either San Francisco or Seattle, creating an in-person culture for the emerging products team.

  • Build and lead a co-located team, emphasizing high collaboration and rapid iteration.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in a combination of engineering, product management, and technical leadership roles.

  • A strong technical foundation in AI/ML, SaaS, or enterprise software.

  • Experience in early-stage product incubation, startups, or R&D-driven innovation teams.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills - you know how to de-risk and validate ideas rapidly.

  • A track record of building and leading small, high-impact teams from scratch.

  • Deep experience with lean product development, rapid prototyping, and scaling innovation.

  • The ability to context-switch between hands-on execution and high-level strategic thinking.

  • Prior experience setting up a new office/location is a plus.
