Director of Document Review

The Director of Document Review plays a critical role in the success of UnitedLex client deliverables and relationships, aligning themselves to client priorities and ensuring excellence through clear and proactive communication and expectation-setting, budgeting, process planning, and team development. This leader will leverage their deep knowledge of the eDiscovery and passion for people to drive superior outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Management
- Exercises deep knowledge of EDRM process and Relativity workflows by developing and refining processes, identifying and managing to potential risks, and meeting quality and financial targets.
- Oversees 15-20 eDiscovery Document Review projects.
- Accountable for approval and accuracy of matter level budgets created by team members working within the Director’s portfolio and ensuring adherence to these budgets.
- Create workplace setups and train and enable the team’s understanding.
- Responsible for achieving target margin on portfolio of clients and matters by understanding strategic levers that can be implemented to improve financial success, using reporting to monitor project success in real time, spotting poorly performing matters, and constantly correcting to ensure projects and relationships are optimized.
Client Management
- Manages a portfolio of multiple client relationships with revenue totaling up to $20 million, including cultivating them to expand offerings.
- Supports sales and solutioning during client meetings, RFP responses, and QBR’s.
- Exercises strategic, independent client communication including leading client / outside counsel calls, managing client expectations, and translating project-based details to digestible messages for legal and technical audiences.
Team Leadership
- Readily adopts new processes and technology when rolled out by department leadership.
- Coaches, trains, and develops team members with a focus on their individual growth, team succession planning, client support, and project budgets and timelines. Sets clear expectations, regularly evaluates performance, provides feedback, and helps employees develop action plans for individual and team improvement.
- Fosters a healthy team by recognizing and celebrating achievements, creating opportunities for growth, identifying and nurturing high-potential employees, and ensuring the team has the right mix of skills for success.

REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS from an accredited university.
- JD and active bar licensure highly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience managing document review projects independently from collection through production in a law firm or service provider environment.
- Tech savvy, with strong knowledge of relevant industry platforms and tools.
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills with the ability and credibility to foster client and team trust.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
- Team player with proven ability to work collaboratively both internally and externally.
- Proven ability to invest in and develop people and collaborate with other teams, departments, and leaders to achieve company-wide goals and objectives.

Salary Range
The salary range for this role reflects the range of factors that inform case-by-case compensation decisions including education, experience, training, licensure, certification, and geography as well as the business and organizational needs specific to the role. Compensation ranges may be broad, reflecting flexibility within the budget and title to consider candidates of varied experience. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this role starts at $100,000. This role is additionally eligible for Incentive Compensation in the form of our Annual Performance Bonus Program.
