Director of Clinical Operations & Workforce Management

About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Workforce Management (Medical Operations) to oversee and optimize the staffing and day to day operations for over 1,000 healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. This key leadership role is responsible for managing all aspects of day to day workforce planning and performance metrics, that will contribute to an excellent patient experience and a positive, and efficient environment for our teams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare workforce management, experience overseeing large teams of medical professionals, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and aligning staffing needs across teams
What You’ll Do:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leadership & Workforce Management
- Lead and support the Medical Operations function in a Leadership role, overseeing teams responsible for the staffing and operations of over 1,000 fractional healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and other medical providers. The Workforce Management focus of this role, is dedicated to day to day medical operations, and workflows, ensuring the efficient planning and utilization of staff, processes, and resources to meet organizational needs
- Recruitment
- Develop and monitor staffing strategies to ensure teams are fully staffed, in addition to continuous collaboration with HR / Clinical leaders to support the hiring process, ensuring teams are fully staffed and care is not impacted by staffing shortages
- Scheduling & Staffing Optimization
- Lead scheduling operations to ensure appropriate staffing levels for healthcare services, optimizing provider availability and minimizing gaps in coverage. Develop and manage staffing models that meet the dynamic needs of healthcare delivery.
- Onboarding & Training of Clinical Staff
- Support the onboarding process of new healthcare providers, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization. This will include facilitating and/or guiding initial trainings and orientation programs to integrate staff into the workforce effectively.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate and communicate with clinical leadership, operations, and HR teams to align workforce strategies with organizational goals. departments.
- Data-Driven Decision Making
- Utilize data and analytics to inform workforce planning decisions, identify trends, and optimize staffing efficiency. Regularly assess workforce performance metrics and adjust strategies as necessary.
- Data Metrics & Forecasting
- Develop and execute short and long term strategies, to deliver real-time and future performance forecasting and trends.
- Daily use of a healthcare WFM technology is leveraged to measure, and report out a variety of medical operational workflows and key metrics. This will include but not be limited to patient satisfaction and provider rating scores, patient wait times, patient scheduling workflows and various other metrics that contribute to successful operations and an excellent patient experience.

Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or a related field / Master’s degree is preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in healthcare clinical / provider operations
- Experience in daily medical operations, directly working in a medical setting, supporting providers and other healthcare staff in daily duties, and processes.
- Proven experience managing a large workforce of healthcare providers, including physicians and nurses.
- Experience in scheduling and staffing within a healthcare setting.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Confident ability to work with and coach medical providers on patient satisfaction issues
- Proficiency in workforce management technology, to develop key data analytics.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and ensure compliance.
Salary: $ 120K - $ 150K / Base + Annual Bonus
