The Role:  

As the Director of Clinical Operations Transformation, you will drive value for our clinical business by owning the end-to-end design and execution of large scale strategic initiatives  that improve efficiency, quality and outcomes. This role is part of our Clinical Operations department, a dynamic and fast paced team responsible for strategizing and executing operational projects to support Hazel’s mental health service line. In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior clinical leaders to prioritize, scope, and drive Hazel’s top priority clinical initiatives. This work includes owning major transformation initiatives, including developing innovative strategies to improve clinical operations, ensuring cross-functional alignment on scope and priorities, creating robust project plans, launching key initiatives (incl. pilots and scaled roll outs), desi, and measuring results. This role is perfect for someone who is able to marry high level strategy with on the ground operations that deliver results.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Strategic Planning & Execution:
    • Develop and implement clinical operations optimization strategies to improve workflow efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the quality of patient care.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership, senior clinical leaders and subject matter experts to define operational goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs). 
    • Ensure clinical initiatives align with the broader organizational goals and support the delivery of high-quality care.
    • Provide thought leadership to drive innovative ways of delivering care
  2. Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for operational improvements across clinical departments, leveraging lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
    • Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of process optimization initiatives.
    • Facilitate data collection and analysis to guide continuous improvement efforts.
  3. Project Management:
    • Manage a pipeline of projects from end to end, including project ideation, intake, sizing, resourcing, and outcomes measurement
    • Work closely with clinical and operational teams to identify project requirements and manage resources effectively.
    • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
  4. Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Drive innovation in clinical operations by partnering and influencing clinical, people operations, school operations, product and tech and other cross functional teams 
    • Build relationships with key stakeholders to foster collaboration and ensure that initiatives are well-coordinated across departments.
    • Act as a liaison between clinical leadership and other departments to streamline communication and promote operational efficiency.
  5. Data Analysis & Reporting:
    • Collect, analyze, and report on key performance metrics related to clinical operations.
    • Use data to identify trends, monitor performance, and develop actionable insights for operational improvement.
    • Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on progress, challenges, and achievements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
  • 8+ years in management consulting and/or healthcare start up environment.  Strong preference for both consulting and direct experience in clinical operations.
  • Experience working with scaled healthcare and/or customer service oriented operations
  • Demonstrated ability to understand strategic priorities while “rolling up your sleeves” to drive operational change
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence and manage complex projects with tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to build a team and effectively people manage talent in order to achieve transformational results
  • Strong analytic, project management, problem-solving skills and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, with a base salary range of $120,000 - $160,000, a 401k match, healthcare coverage, paid time off, and a broad range of other benefits and perks. Review our benefits at Hazel Health Benefits.
