About the Role

Location: Remote, United States

Reports To: COO

Compensation: $135,000 - $175,000 per year

CodePath is at an exciting inflection point as we scale our impact from serving 12,000 students in 2024 to 100,000 students by 2028. To achieve this ambitious goal, we must invest in building a strong foundation of operational excellence across our organization. By creating a cohesive operating cadence, improving project and knowledge management, and optimizing tools and systems, we aim to enable our team to work with greater alignment, efficiency, and impact. These efforts will ensure we scale with speed and quality while delivering transformative outcomes for our students.

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Business Operations to lead these efforts and drive operational excellence across CodePath. Reporting to the COO, this role will oversee the organization’s operating rhythms, streamline project and knowledge management, and manage cross-functional tools and systems to ensure seamless collaboration and data-driven decision-making. The Director will be instrumental in turning strategic plans into operational reality, equipping CodePath to meet its bold growth objectives with quality and efficiency.

This is a unique opportunity to build the Business Operations function from the ground up. The ideal candidate is passionate about CodePath’s mission to transform technical education and bring computer science opportunities to 100,000 students annually. They have a proven track record of driving efficiency, building alignment and operational excellence, and leading cross functionally during periods of rapid organizational growth.

 

Key Activities

Operating Cadence and Reporting Visibility:
  • Develop and own the organization’s operating cadence, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting cycles

  • Lead the design and implementation of executive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights into organizational performance

  • Oversee business reviews and OKR tracking to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment on key priorities

  • Create executive reporting by distilling complex data into concise summaries for leadership and board meetings

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to provide data-driven analysis and support, empowering informed decision-making at all levels of the organization

Project and Knowledge Management:
  • Establish and manage project management frameworks, documentation standards, and communication protocols for cross-functional alignment

  • Identify and drive opportunities to improve organizational processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency across teams

  • Lead the creation and maintenance of knowledge management systems that capture, organize, and share essential information across teams in a fully remote environment. Ensure valuable insights are accessible, fostering efficiency, collaboration, and informed decision-making throughout the organization

  • Champion operational best practices that enable scalability and reduce redundancies. Partner with department leaders to understand needs and provide operational guidance and solutions

  • Design and implement training, documentation, and support to drive effective, consistent use of tools and processes Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Tools and Systems Management:
  • Oversee and manage tools and systems that span cross-functional teams, including CRM, IT, and other key platforms/tools used to support core processes (OKRs, project management) 

  • Drive automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability across organizational processes

  • Ensure the alignment, integration, and usability of data across systems to support cross-functional business needs Partner with key stakeholders to assess technology needs, implement improvements, and optimize tool usage

  • Partner with HR, Finance, and IT to ensure operational workflows are optimized to support organizational growth

 

Qualifications 

  • A proven record of engaging, developing, and managing across verticals to drive operational excellence in a fully remote environment

  • Expertise to advise on critical systems and not afraid to get your hands dirty in execution mode 

  • 7+ years in business operations, process improvement, or program management, ideally within high-growth or mission-driven organizations

  • Demonstrated success leading operational excellence initiatives during periods of rapid growth

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing operational frameworks, reporting structures, and process improvements, with an action-oriented approach to identifying challenges, establishing priorities, and implementing solutions

  • Strong ability to analyze complex data, create reporting systems, and present insights to inform decision-making

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in facilitating executive-level discussions and ability to translate concepts for broad audiences 

  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (HubSpot expertise a plus), knowledge management tools, and automation technologies

  • Highly collaborative with experience building relationships and influencing at all levels, thoughtfully managing change initiatives across an organization

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a bias toward action and creative problem-solving

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in business, technology, or related field preferred

 

Compensation

CodePath has standardized salaries based on the position’s level, no matter where you live. For this role, we’re hiring for a Director level position at an annual salary of $ 135,000 to $175,000. Salary is determined based on your relevant experience and skills as evaluated through our interview process.
