Director, Non-Acute Supply Chain

Job Summary
The Director of Non-Acute Supply Chain will be responsible for establishing and optimizing the supply chain processes and systems across the Medical University of South Carolina non-acute healthcare facilities. This role includes overseeing formulary management, the integration of a new supply chain distribution across all locations and maximizing contract compliance. Through these efforts, the Director will contribute to the efficient, cost-effective distribution of supplies, enhancing strategic alignment with the Medical University of South Carolina overall supply chain initiatives.This position is on-site at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Job Description
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a system-wide standardized formulary to align product selection with clinical and operational needs.
Collaborate with clinical and procurement teams to analyze product utilization, with a focus on reducing variation and improving cost-effectiveness.
Lead initiatives focused on category optimization, leveraging group purchasing agreements to drive compliance.
Update standardized formulary document quarterly.
Quarterly utilization and compliance report.
Annual cost-savings and compliance report.
Oversee the onboarding process for procurement, inventory, and logistics at new locations.
Align all new locations with existing standards, formularies, and contracts to support operational continuity.
Lead cross-functional teams in developing and implementing customized supply chain solutions for each location’s unique requirements.
Detailed integration plans for each new location, delivered two weeks prior to go-live.
Monthly progress reports on integration for new locations.
Post-integration assessment report within three months after go-live.
Establish mechanisms to track and enforce adherence to negotiated terms and supplier agreements.
Identify and implement efficiency improvements to reduce waste, streamline procurement, and optimize inventory management.
Track key metrics, including contract compliance, cost savings, and inventory turnover, to inform continuous improvement efforts.
Monthly contract compliance and cost savings reports.
Annual strategic review on supply chain efficiencies.
Inventory turnover reports reviewed quarterly.
Manage the operation and continuous improvement of supply chain systems, ensuring seamless functionality across non-acute facilities.
Identify and implement system enhancements aimed at improving performance, efficiency, and user experience.
Act as project manager for the design, configuration, and testing phases, supporting process improvement opportunities within the ERP and related business tools.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or relevant field
Work Experience
8-10+ years of experience in supply chain management ideally within the healthcare or non-acute sector
5+ years of leadership or management experience overseeing teams, operations, or projects in supply chain
Familiarity with non-acute care settings (e.g., clinics, outpatient centers, or long-term care facilities)
