Position Summary: This role will be fully accountable for the application of nuclear medical physics in the research and development of imaging and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals (RPT) in Oncology. This individual will work in a multi-disciplinary environment and contribute from discovery through late phase research.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the strategy and execution of dosimetry principles and analyses across the Oncology RPT portfolio in collaboration with PK scientists and modelers
- Proactively lead and manage the delivery of analyses through internal or outsourced dosimetry platforms
- Contribute to the development of study documentation including but not limited to; clinical protocols, imaging manuals, dosimetry manuals and patient release guidelines for Phase 0-Phase 3 clinical research.
- Deliver subject matter expertise regarding advanced imaging modalities, image evaluation and dosimetry estimation across the Eli Lilly enterprise.
- Support justification and decision-making related to dosimetry data and principles to Health Authorities and internal stakeholders for RPT assets. Negotiate with Health Authorities and pursue agreements that aid in efficient and meaningful clinical development of Lilly medicines.
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional study teams, development partners and external vendors (e.g., CROs, software developers, camera manufacturers) to ensure dosimetry strategies are designed and implemented to align with clinical development plans.
- Serves as an in-house expert for building Nuclear Physics/Medical Physics capabilities, including but not limited to software platforms and resources.
- Serve as a modeling & dosimetry subject area expert across imaging PK Sciences and RPT initiatives.
- Process raw and summary level data to assess and make recommendations related to business development direction, insight and guidance on diligence and licensing opportunities for RPTs.
- Stays abreast of professional information and technology through conferences, medical literature, and other available training, to augment expertise in the therapeutic area.
- Ensures adherence to Good Clinical Practices, pharmacovigilance standards, standard operating procedures and to all other quality standards in conducting research.
Minimum Requirements:
- Expertise in radiopharmaceutical/internal dosimetry using MIRD-based and voxel-based dosimetry software
- Demonstrated ability to communicate dosimetry and/or modeling results to a multidisciplinary audience to facilitate decision-making.
- Advanced Degree (MS, PhD) in Nuclear Physics, Medical Imaging, Medical Physics or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong technical understanding of and commitment to medical imaging and dosimetry in the field of RPT development
- Knowledge of acquisition and interpretation for both functional and cross-sectional imaging modalities including PET, Bone Scan, SPECT, CT and MR with experience using multiple vendor platforms
Additional Preferences:
- Board certification as a Nuclear Medical Physicist, or equivalent
- Knowledge of regulatory and clinical development requirements for radiopharmaceuticals
- Experience authoring and reviewing of Imaging Manuals and Dosimetry Manuals
- Experience with camera qualification for clinical research use
- Experience with Oncology Drug development a plus.
- Proactive and independent driver with self-discipline and the willingness to develop

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$168,000 - $294,800Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
