RTX has an opening for a Director, Logistics Network & Distribution (Director, Logistics). Remote Opportunity.

Role Overview:

We're looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, changing environment. As the director of Logistics Network Design & Distribution Strategy, you will be responsible for orchestrating the logistics network design and distribution strategy for RTX. This role is designed for a strategic leader who can integrate global and regional logistics distribution and transportation strategies with meticulous attention to detail, incorporating data-driven decision-making and innovative solutions.

What You Will Do:

  • Logistics network design: Develop & implement comprehensive transportation and warehousing strategies on both global and regional levels. Lead data collection efforts to inform network design decisions, including scenario planning and risk assessments. Create and execute strategy implementation plans, ensuring alignment with company objectives and business unit requirements.
  • Distribution Strategy: Categorize distribution locations based on business requirements on a regional and global level. Conduct cost modeling analysis to determine optimal strategies (i.e., in-source versus outsource). Design warehouse layouts including flow, storage and physical configuration, leveraging data analysis and standardization principles across the company.
  • Technology Integration & Innovation: Conduct external technology assessments, to evaluate emerging logistics solutions. Identify and implement innovative technologies to enhance distribution operations and transportation networks.
  • Regional Assessments and Solution Development: Perform external regional assessments to understand market dynamics and logistical challenges and opportunities. Develop tailored solutions and financial estimates aligned with business unit requirements and strategic goals.
  • Team Leadership: Provide mentorship, guidance, and leadership to a team of sourcing professionals across multiple business units, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Travel up to 5% domestically

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically a minimum of 14+ year's experience in supply chain and logistics and a bachelor's degree; Advanced degree and 12+ year's related experience.
  • Experience with Project management, Change management, & Transition management
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Global Logistics experience
  • Experience in Industrial Engineering or working closely with industrial engineering
  • Experience with Scenario Planning
  • Experience in Supplier Relationship management & Supplier development
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels of an organization, as well as the ability to manage cross-functional / cross-business unit teams
  • Demonstration of strategic development and vision
  • Ability to partner with Finance to develop strong business cases
  • Experience with Regulatory & ITC compliance 
  • Demonstrated focus on sustainability
  • Travel Domestically
  • Advanced Degree

Educational Requirements:

Typically a bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related discipline..

The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
