About the Role:
The Director, Internal Audit & Data Science leads the bank's data science capabilities within the Internal Audit function, focusing on integrating data analytics and data science to enhance audit effectiveness. This role develops and executes a comprehensive data-driven audit strategy, leveraging advanced analytics, continuous auditing, and AI to transform traditional audit approaches. The Director will lead audits of the business and IT, bridging audit expertise with cutting-edge data science capabilities and ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and manage internal audits, including a formal reporting system to communicate audit results to management and regulatory compliance agencies.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive data analytics strategy for Internal Audit, integrating advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning to enhance audit capabilities.
- Implement continuous auditing and monitoring systems that provide real-time insights into potential risk areas.
- Manage the preparation of audit plans and ensure execution within established timelines.
- Ensure audit issues are well defined, and root causes are identified.
- Lead efforts to integrate audit data across disparate systems, creating a unified data repository for comprehensive analysis.
- Collaborate with IT and data management teams to ensure appropriate data access, security, and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Implement data collection, cleansing, and preparation processes that support efficient and effective audit analytics.
- Manage the testing and documentation of financial and computer system records for information integrity and transaction accuracy.
- Establish a centralized data analytics function to support audit teams with specialized expertise and tools.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., MS Co-Pilot, PowerBI) and data science techniques (e.g., classification, regression, and clustering) to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead pilot projects to test innovative audit solutions and build proof of concepts.
- Create training programs to enhance data literacy across the audit department and mentor audit staff on integrating data analytics into traditional audit approaches.
- Train management and staff to plan, scope, and perform internal audits and risk assessments within established business process controls.
- Manage staff including hiring, performance management, mentoring, and coaching.
- Translate complex data findings into actionable insights for executive leadership and the Audit Committee.
- Establish protocols for validating analytics models to ensure reliability and accuracy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary range: $103,511.83 – $191,170.01
The salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this role. Individual pay within the range will be determined by multiple factors which can include but are not limited to a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary for your location during the hiring process. Ranges may be modified in the future.
