The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a(n) Director Health & Safety you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Developing and implementing H&S policies, standards and programs that are aligned with Global EHS Excellence System & Strategy and assisting Solventum sites with implementing Solventum’s Environmental, Health & Safety Management system, and Global EH&S policies & standards.
  • Assisting regional managers and sites with managing serious injury & fatality (SIF) & Non-SIF prevention initiatives and provide support for corporate, federal, state, and/or regulatory safety and health issues that surface in facilities throughout the business.
  • Managing the SIF and Potential SIF learning review process, including leading monthly learning meetings to facilitate operational learning, publishing learnings, alerts, and best practices to expedite horizontal deployment across the business, and establishing a process to track corrective actions to closure and reporting via leading indicator dashboards.
  • Leading the company’s human and organizational performance (HOP) and behavioral safety initiatives.
  • Partnering with the Director of Environmental and Process Safety, Loss Prevention & Audits to develop a robust EHS enterprise-wide compliance process to comply with applicable regulatory and legal requirements and Solventum’s EHS policies, standards and programs.

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND ten (10) years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Safety Sciences, Engineering or a related field in a private, public, government or military environment

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED AND sixteen (16) years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Safety Sciences, Engineering or a related field in a private, public, government or military environment

AND

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

  • 5 years of EH&S management experience which includes supporting multiple locations and at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with developing and implementing serious injury & fatality prevention initiatives, EH&S Management Systems, e.g., ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 and implementing “new view” S&H programs such as Human & Organizational Performance.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful global H&S programs.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.
  • Successfully managed EH&S staff, projects and budgets.
  • Significant knowledge of U.S. Safety & Health laws and regulations and International Health & Safety requirements required.
  • Interpersonal, leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels.
  • Exemplary customer service skills and attention to detail.

Work location:

  • Remote - United States

Travel: May include up to 50% domestic and international

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $222,044 - $271,387, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
