Within Fender Musical Instruments Corporation’s ("FMIC") Supply Chain team, reporting into the Global Logistics, Trade and Distribution organization. This role will be accountable for FMIC’s North America (US, CA, MX, LATAM) distribution fulfillment network.

We are searching for a Distribution Director based San Bernardino or surrounding area This role will be accountable for FMIC’s US distribution operations that currently service North America (CA, US, MX, LATAM). Immediate goals will be day to day reporting, KPIs, financial opportunities, operations efficiency. Management will be largely around 3PL management; however scope includes managing the FMIC owned SoCal manufacturing warehouses, as well.  Aside from ensuring day-to-day orderbook is flawlessly executed, main goals are driving efficiency, cost mitigation, and orchestrate flawless change management with near team WMS upgrades as well as continuous improvement efforts. This role will have 4 direct reports.

Essential Functions:

  • Be a thought leader driving supply chain process, technology, and people management to reach new heights – fostering an environment of optimization for FMIC and our amazing customers.
  • The role will oversee multiple facilities across campuses and states/time zones.
  • Monitor financial performance, including cost control, budget adherence, and margin impact.
  • Build strong relationships with external partners (suppliers, transportation, manufacturing, customers) as well as internal customers (sales, finance, planning, etc).
  • Strategic leadership ensuring day to day activities are flawlessly executed with 3PLs and team members, while driving initiatives and best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Establish and evolve formal reviews of the SLA monitoring / KPIs with the Third-Party and FMIC.
  • Lead through resolution of issues as required with 3PL provider.
  • Maintain FTZ operational compliance and requirements where appliable.
  • Manufacturing-adjacent experience with finished goods to warehouse transportation and flow of goods is a bonus.
  • Maintains a high level of transparency and provides excellent communication to all stakeholders through the effective use of oral, written, and non-verbal communication.
  • The strategic planning horizon for this role is 1-2 years, enabling growth and margin control for US, Canada, Mexico, and LATAM fulfillment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent is required. 
  • 7 -10 years’ experience in the areas of Third-Party Management in Distribution Operations, Warehouse Operations Materials Operations, Inventory Control
  • Proficiency in estimating and managing P&L/Expense Budgets
  • Six Sigma or comparatively strong continuous improvement and optimization experience desired.
  • Skills should include leadership, planning, financial analysis, negotiations, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong capability with not only managing Third-Party relationships but acting as a strong partner and influencer within FMIC
