Director, Finance

Role Description: We are seeking a Director, Finance to lead financial operations at a fast growing Series A startup. The Director will be our first finance hire and will both strategic and operational. They will be pivotal in developing financial strategies that align with our company's long-term goals and will oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Financial Leadership: Spearhead the financial strategy, ensuring alignment with the broader business objectives of the startup.

• Financial Systems and Processes: Develop and enhance financial systems and controls to support growth and ensure accurate reporting.

• Budget Management and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and financial forecasting processes, including variance analysis and financial modeling.

• Compliance and Risk Management: Manage all aspects of financial compliance to ensure adherence to necessary legal and regulatory standards.

• Revenue Optimization: Oversee all revenue recognition processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.

• Financial Modeling and Operating Plan: Construct and maintain robust financial models and operating plans to guide strategic decision-making.

• Procurement: Oversee procurement strategies to optimize spending and vendor management.

Qualifications:

• Professional Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis, strategic finance, management consulting, or investment banking.

• Analytical Skills: Strong capability in financial modeling and experience in solving complex financial problems.

• Leadership Qualities: Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and build teams in an unstructured environment.

• Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information in an understandable way.

• Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop innovative solutions to enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
