Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

Flowers Bakeries has an immediate opening for a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Director of DSD Distribution.

The Director of Distribution provides direct oversight across shipping and logistics bakeries across an assigned territory. The Director will engage and support bakery shipping and distribution centers to evaluate efficiency opportunities to improve and/ or automate operations. The role is designed to help distribution leadership solve complex problems and issues that they are unable to solve at the local level. The Director supports critical capital or special projects at the bakery or Distribution Center (DC) including but not limited to technology, digital, automation, flow re-design and layout that results in improved operational efficiency and cost reduction.  The role serves as a bakery-level change agent and reiterates and supports the adoption of any of our digital tools and solutions.  

The Director of DSD Distribution will co-develop standard operating procedures (SOP) across both process and technology solutions and ensure they are being utilized by the local management team. Engaging and supporting the distribution manager with Shipping Automation System (SAS) and ensuring we direct them to the right level of IT support across Enterprise Applications and/ or Platform Support teams. 
 

Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of Shipping/Distribution leadership experience 
• Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

• Must possess extremely good organizational skills with the ability to multitask, work independently, and to effectively prioritize 
• Must be flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and work focus based dynamic and fast-paced work environment
• Entrepreneurship, leadership, attention to detail, analytical skills and creative thinking are necessary. Must be highly collaborative with an ability to lead through influence
• Willingness to travel across United States (up to 75%)
