The Director of Data Governance is a leader with a strategic vision, responsible for establishing and implementing a robust data governance framework across ServiceTitan's SaaS platform. With a primary focus on data quality and a deep understanding of the operational landscape, this role will lead a team of data governance professionals to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and trustworthiness of data assets. The first focus of the team will be improving data quality in our billing data but then it will expand to include all customer data that impacts sales, post sales, and our financial processes. 

What you'll do:

  • Provide manager-doer leadership to the 3 person data governance team, ensuring that data governance initiatives are executed effectively and efficiently.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy aligned with ServiceTitan's business goals and operational needs.

  • Champion data governance best practices within the Operations Data team, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with data stewards to identify and resolve data quality issues, implementing proactive data quality controls.

  • Establish key data quality metrics and reporting mechanisms, providing insights to stakeholders on data health.

  • Drive data quality improvement initiatives, leveraging data profiling, cleansing, and data quality tools such as SQL, dbt, Monte Carlo, and others.

  • Work with stakeholders to identify the root cause of data quality issues and create plans to fix them. 

  • Partner with data and analytics teams to optimize data usage and support business objectives (e.g. setting the definitions for what values key fields can have).

  • Stay abreast of emerging data governance trends and advise senior leadership on strategic data governance matters.

  • Oversee compliance, legal, classification (inc PII) and cataloguing of existing data
     

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in data governance or a related field, with a proven track record of leadership.

  • Deep understanding of operational data and its impact on business processes.

  • Expertise in data quality management and data governance frameworks.

  • Experience with data profiling, data cleansing, and data quality tools, including SQL, dbt, and Monte Carlo.

  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce and its data model, particularly billing data.

  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.

  • Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with a broad suite of data lineage and data discovery tools.

  • Experience with data anonymization and data masking techniques.

ServiceTitan is committed to fair and equitable compensation for all of our employees. We thoughtfully consider a wide range of factors when determining individual compensation. The expected salary range for this role for candidates residing in the United States is between $244,000 USD - $326,400 USD. Compensation for candidates residing outside the United States will vary by location and the specific salary range will be discussed during the hiring process. Actual compensation for an individual may vary depending on skills, performance over time, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition to the base salary, the total compensation package also includes an annual bonus, equity and a holistic suite of benefits. Apply
