Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced candidate to lead the effort of identifying and implementing a new Commercial and Medical data environment to support the commercial launch of one of our novel RAS(ON) inhibitors. This person will be responsible for building a team, processes, and capabilities to enable reliable analytics, reporting, and a variety of integrations across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, analytics, and system integration, with a proven ability to be both hands-on as well as build and lead teams including managing vendor relationships.
The Director of Data Solutions will be a key member of the Information Sciences team, reporting to the VP of Commercial and Medical Information Systems and is expected to develop and nurture close partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders, particularly in the Commercial and Medical teams. Through this partnership and their strong understanding of business data needs, this person will help select a scalable platform, design a flexible yet reliable architecture, and implement production support structures across various commercial and medical data solutions within the enterprise.

Lead the selection, implementation, and maintenance of Commercial and Medical data platforms and tools.

Build and manage a high performing team of data engineers, data managers, and IT specialists leveraging a combination of in-house and outsourced resources.

Design, develop, and administer the Commercial and Medical data warehouse, reporting infrastructure and associated systems to facilitate the capture, metric creation, classification, analysis and reporting of sales and market data.

Partner with stakeholders to design appropriate data and reporting solutions by using in-depth understanding of customers, business model, products, and KPIs.

Build out capabilities and procedures for data validation, data integrity, data profiling, data auditing, and data gap analyses.

Ensure the reliability, accuracy, and security of data across all systems.

Employ enterprise thinking in collaborating with vendors and consultants to establish and optimize information systems.

Oversee data governance and compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the Information Systems team.

Work directly with end users capturing business questions and translating them to timely and accurate data requirements for large and small projects as well as ad hoc data requests.

Work with other functions in Information Sciences to create harmonious, productive, and clear lines of communication and workflow.

Provide end-user training and support for analytics and operations colleagues to leverage data structures in analytics and reporting.

Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to commercial data management.
Required Skills, Experience and Education:

Mastery of principles and technologies of data management, data architecture, ETL, process design, and analytics for both structured and unstructured data (Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Lakehouse, etc.)

Strong leadership skills with direct people management experience in building and managing cross-functional teams.

Strong understanding of internal and external sales and marketing data sources leveraged in a Commercial setting (CRM, ERP, Website, 3rd party data feeds, secondary data, etc.)

Builds rapport and credibility as a strategic partner.

Proven ability to collaborate effectively with vendors and consultants.

Acts with urgency and passion. Enjoys supporting others.

Ability to manage a portfolio of projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously and autonomously.

Great communication skills, possessing the ability to prepare and present data and complex information in a visually appealing and easy to understand manner to all levels of management and staff.

Experience in pharma, life sciences, or a related industry.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a minimum of 12 years in the delivery of technology services and support, including Commercial experience.
Preferred Skills:

Relevant certifications in data management and data platforms (e.g., CDMP, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, etc.)

Experience with Omnichannel concepts, technologies, data flows, and analytics.
The base salary range for this full-time position is 210,000 to $253,000 for candidates based at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the minimum and maximum salary for the position in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local market a candidate is based. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.
