We measure ourselves by reductions in preterm births, NICU admissions, c-sections and maternal mortality; we improve outcomes and reduce healthcare spend.

Role Description

Your north star: Lead a team of educators and onboarding specialists (preceptors) to deliver high-quality, evidence-based education to clinicians who are focused on improving perinatal health outcomes by providing amazing patient-centered clinical care to our patients.

In this role, you will have the following responsibilities: 

  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of clinical educators and clinical onboarding specialists (RN, APP, Specialty services)
  • Determine the core clinical competencies and assessment criteria across all clinical specialties
  • Develop the clinical onboarding and training roadmap across specialties in collaboration with our Director, Clinical Onboarding & Training Operations
  • Design and update clinical training programs for staff, including new employee orientation, continuing education, and specialized training for various medical roles
  • Conduct, and/or facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars to ensure that all clinical staff members are up to date on the latest medical practices, technology, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor quality of care and performance across the clinical team, in collaboration with our quality team,  and identify training opportunities at both the individual and team level 
  • Support the team in addressing barriers to care that have been identified by patients and/or the care team.
  • Hold the team accountable for improving outcomes through increasing clinician uptake of our onboarding and continuing education program and protocols.
  • Identify opportunities for professional growth for each individual on the team and support them in working toward those goals.

Who you are

  • A proven leader, with at least 5 years of experience leading a team 
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree, preferably in nursing education
  • Have 10+ years of practicing as an RN or APRN serving maternal-newborn or pediatric health populations. 
  • Are internet-connected and have the ability to work remotely
  • Willing to travel occasionally (infrequent)
  • Understand the prevalence of and role that birth inequity and structural racism play in maternal morbidity and mortality.
  • Are facile with multiple tech platforms, with an eagerness to recommend platform improvements and test out new systems
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
  • Phenomenal interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professionally engaged
  • Able to cultivate a team of highly accountable educators

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our company’s size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes equity, benefits, and other opportunities at Pomelo Care. In accordance with New York City, Colorado, California, and other applicable laws, Pomelo Care is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $140-$160K. We expect most candidates to fall in the middle of the range. We also believe that your personal needs and preferences should be taken into consideration, so we allow some choice between equity and cash.
