Position Description
ERT is seeking a Director of Business Development to provide full business development (BD) life cycle support including opportunity ID, capture and proposal support; communication; research and analysis; and, customer service in support of ERT's strategic growth objectives. Main responsibilities include:
- Reports to ERT's Chief Growth Officer to identify and track potential customers, marketing opportunities and bids/RFPs
- Supports the development and maintenance of ERT's overall BD process documentation and guides process implementation across Business Units including pipeline management, opportunity qualification and capture, and proposal management.
- Meets with potential customers to grow, maintain, and leverage existing relationships and attend industry meetings and events.
- Interacts with BU VP, Program and Project Managers, and SMEs to develop and maintain BU's opportunity pipeline by matching new and existing opportunities with IT BU business and growth objectives
- Leads or participates in data gathering and statistical analysis in support of capture, bid, and proposal activities for specific opportunities.
- Functions as the capture manager and/or proposal manager as needed, primarily on ERT IT BU related contract and task order opportunities valued up to $50M both in existing customer space as well as with new customers.
- Assists in proposal writing and development of new business and recompetes when needed across the company.
- Organizes and supports marketing effort by attending networking events, customer meetings, industry days and conferences.
- Participates in overall company strategic and business development activities.
Required Skills
7-10 years of full life cycle business development and capture experience, in a Federal Government IT contracting environment, such as NOAA, NASA, DOD, or other government agencies. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and work within a team environment. Must have excellent research and analytical skills and work efficiently and effectively under pressure and within deadlines. Must have strong organization skills, and must demonstrate high energy, initiative, and commitment. Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office software, required.
Desired
Experience with successfully competing task orders in Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs) or Agency-Wide Acquisition Contracts (AWACs). Training and/or certification in business development, capture management, or proposal management (such as Shipley, APMP or similar).
Education
MS in engineering, science, information technology, or business management related discipline, or equivalent.
Salary
The salary range for this role is $130,000 - $218,000/year. This range is a good faith estimate based on similar roles across the organization. ERT uses several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the position's scope and expected duties, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
