Job Summary

The Director of Anaplan Solution Architecture and Development plays a key role in leading and delivering complex planning and forecasting solutions using the Anaplan platform. This individual will partner with the Anaplan Product Owner to design and deploy scalable models for US and Canada that drive decision-making across finance, operations, and other business functions.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solution Design & Architecture:
    • Act as the architectural subject matter expert for large-scale connected planning solutions, converting existing solutions, complex spreadsheets, and business challenges into intuitive, multi-dimensional Anaplan models.
    • Lead the design and development of Anaplan models and solutions to meet business requirements.
    • Translate business processes into functional Anaplan models, ensuring best practices and scalability.
    • Architect multi-dimensional Anaplan solutions, incorporating complex calculations, and algorithms.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver custom solutions.
    • Develop comprehensive model documentation and identify opportunities to optimize and enhance existing models, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs and connected planning solutions

 

  • Model Building & Implementation:
    • Build and maintain Anaplan models for financial forecasting, budgeting, demand planning, and other processes.
    • Integrate Anaplan with existing enterprise systems, ensuring seamless data flow.
    • Configure, test, and validate models to ensure they meet business expectations.
    • Oversee model performance and workflow processes ensuring models are optimized for efficiency, performance, scalability, and flexibility.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for technical teams.
    • Advise stakeholders on best practices, potential optimizations, and future Anaplan capabilities.

 

  • Technical Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor Anaplan solution architects, modelers, and developers, overseeing and reviewing their work, ensuring the accuracy and quality of delivered solutions while adhering to Anaplan best practices.
    • Troubleshoot issues and provide technical guidance during the implementation process.
    • Stay updated on new Anaplan features and enhancements.

 

  • Project Management:
    • Oversee multiple Anaplan projects simultaneously, managing timelines, resources, and deliverables.
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while meeting the company's quality standards.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align Anaplan solutions with business objectives.

 

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a focus on planning and forecasting systems; experience in Anaplan architecture and model building is essential.
    • In-depth knowledge of the Anaplan platform, including model building, data integration, and performance tuning.
       
  • Technical Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of formal system implementation methodologies (Agile methodology preferred).
    • Strong understanding of data integration processes (inbound and outbound).
    • Experience with multi-dimensional modeling, complex data structures, and SQL or other database management tools.
    • Understanding of enterprise-level architecture, ensuring Anaplan solutions fit within broader IT ecosystems and support long-term organizational strategies.
    • Competence in working with databases, managing large datasets, and performing data cleansing and migration to optimize Anaplan performance.

 

  • Other skills:
    • Proven track record of successful Anaplan project delivery in a leadership role, with a focus on model design in a fast-paced environment.
    • Commitment to service excellence and a collaborative work style.
    • Critical thinking, that allows understanding of the bigger picture to help make decision.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically about data and business processes.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Excellent Time Management Skills
    • Effectively managing conflicting priorities to drive deliverables and meet deadlines.
    • Committed and enthusiastic approach to supporting business customers and end users.
       
  • Education/Training:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field. A MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
    • Anaplan Certified Model Builder
    • Certified Solution Architect
